On to 2026

There are a lot of people who know the full extent of the players and coaches and all things Griz football than myself.

As far as Ah Yat, I don’t see him leaving, I posed the question if Gillman leaves would he consider it for a big enough financial gain. Being the son of a former great Montana QB his dream may have always been to play for the Griz.

Gillman being out of Minnesota, I would have a hard time believing, that his dream was to play football for the Griz. He grew up in the Midwest and Big Ten Country.

This next part is a for instance. What if he dreamed about playing for Notre Dame. There two top running backs will not be returning. He gets offered $ million to go to Notre Dame. Will he forgo his dream and the money to play his senior year for the Griz.

At this point the above his hypothetical, but at this point the only people that have credibility in him “definitely” returning are him and his parents.
I don’t know what Gillman will do (and wouldn’t say if I did), but my source on NIL offers from about 6 weeks was the source you mentioned in your last paragraph. In private in-person conversation. I know what Eddie George told him too. I will PM you 68, later.

I'm glad you pointed out the gestures. I get tired of the "our guys would never" while people complain about something the other team did.

I don't think Gilman leaves. I think he has some potential to do something really awesome at the next level if he did. But his family loves the program too much to leave. He may be a Midwest kid but you guys have become his family. I would honestly see KaY leaving before Gilman did and I don't see KaY leaving.
I hope that you are right.

The NIL money though had me thinking/worried/doubting if he will be back.

If he gets offered a big NIL deal then why should he not accept it. There is no guarantee that he will play on Sunday’s. I do believe that he is better than the SDSU RB, Isaiah Davis, who is playing on Sunday’s.

If you are 21/22 years old and get offered the opportunity with an NIL deal from a P4 school, that has to be hard to pass up.

As I have stated, I don’t know sir Eli Gillman nor have any knowledge of his current NIL deal with the Griz or any other potential deals.

All I know is that the whole NIL process/landscape makes my head hurt.

Unfortunately, there is no way to tell how good Gillman is because our O-line is horrible. I would like him to have a chance to run behind a line as they have at MSU or NDSU.

According to the sugarcoaters the Oline is actually great because AY and Gillman are so talented. The sugarcoaters belittle any data that goes against their narrative like PFF says our Oline sucks so now the sugarcoaters have to discredit PFF.

No one has ever suggested the OL was great. Not one person. The OL was generally good, protected the pocket well as the season went on, and had a pretty good run game most of the time. Why can't you just deal with the facts? Most everyone says PFF is not very helpful or accurate in college football. Do some homework.

Ever heard of Barry Sanders

Ever heard of Barry Sanders? You’re a dipshit!

I rarely comment on egriz anymore which I'm sure some of you find comforting. Haven't commented either before or after either cat game. But reading through some threads lately just has me shaking my head. First of all I don't know how you would expect next year to be anything better although I acknowlege that 13 - 2 is pretty good even in the shit FCS.

But if you expect bertter then state what will change. Most recognize that Hauck isn't going anywhere. Many of those know that he is stubborn so he isn't changing and certainly doesn't give a shit about the egriz rifraf's opinions. Fans still buy tickets even to shit games that have no chance to be competive. Most of the posters refuse to believe UM could attract a better coach even though what happened at MSU directly refutes that. (Interesting aside here is that Vigen could posssiby, if this years results were repeated, actually become coach six to Bobby's chagrin. Stop Hammer actually made some excellent points about the AD but we all know he isn't leaving either - Hauck owns him. Then the same wimp ass non-con schedule other than OSU and I doubt the Big Sky, other that the Cats, will be much of a threat so playoffs are a given. Many of you say you want to see change but then argue fiercely about changing anything because we are making playoff runs every year which even almost any above average coach could do with the resources UM has. If you think a new strenght coach is really going to make a difference good luck with that one. I'm sure BH and staff are out there today attempting to buy next year's team because he is just enamored with the portal as his savior. But if you as fans want a NC, your going to have to hope for some stronger shit than what I've seen 95% of you post. You fear change more than you fear losing to the Cats or the DSU's so see you here next year with the same complaints.
some~ decent points. Why would a new strength coach not help in your opinion?
GO GRIZZLIES!!!!

Exactly. Nobody said they were great, generally good, yes.

Recruiting is a gamble. Bobby can believe what he wants to believe in offense/defense. Getting the right people to come and fill the slots is another matter. Keeping them is another. Bobby doesn't have Luca Brasi with him on the recruiting trail. Remember this line from 'The Godfather'?

"Luca Brasi held a gun to his head, and my father
assured him that either his brains — or his signature
— would be on the contract."

He has Justin Green with him on the recruiting trail and I have heard Justin Green is very persuasive and good at his job.
