I think having Loud makes a difference with the defensive gameplan. That in itself will tend to adjustments of the defensive side since Griz-Cat.
Why? The Griz have not made substantial adjustments since his return...

The cats offense however, will need to adjust to his presence...

Agreed. Lamson is a much better passer, and less of a runner. We need to tackle better. Loud being back will allow the defensive scheme to be utilized to its full effect. Lamson will be running for his life Saturday.
That is the biggest thing that I've seen in this defense since Loud returned. This defense looks fast, it flies around, and both QBs for SDSU and USD did not look like they were having a good time.

Didn't want to argue - and won't.

I genuinely don't believe they've made substantial changes since his return. But, there is a better than 50% chance I am wrong.

What adjustments have you seen?
IMO, Loud’s presence has allowed the griz to bring a ton more pressure against the o line. We saw 5 man rush often, and I think a 6 man rush even, whereas we only ever brought 4 while Loud was out.

Silly arguement on whether it is changes in scheme or just guys finally meshing as they had to replace all last year's starters. They are playing more disciplined which is a must against Lamson. Like Tommy he is good at exploiting breakdowns and converting those backbreaker 3rd and longs. D needs to play together and stick to their assignments and good things will happen as the last couple games have shown.

Montana has scored 102 points across the last 2 playoff games, displaying efficiency and creativity. especially with that 3rd and 20 trick play. The cats will have to defend the whole field. this isn't the same team from November 22nd. Maintaining this unpredictability will keep MSU off-balance in my opinion.

We need to pressure lamson, contain jones in the passing game, + in the turnover margin, and we are heading to Nashville.
Cats have also made adjustments during the playoffs. Remember the 6 false start penalties at home?

Its not necessarily that massive adjustments have been made...it's that the scheme itself actually WORKS with Loud back there locking down one side of the field.

Without him we either had to keep another guy back in coverage (less pressure) or we get torched by mediocre QB's when we'd send pressure and keep the DB's on islands.

In the cat/griz game the griz pulled out all the stops by attacking the edges, fake reverses and the seam routes. The underneath routes worked very well because the cats defense essentially gave them that. I'm not sure what adjustments the griz can make on offense to match up with the base cover 2 or 3 the cats run. The cats will adjust the defense slightly to take away the underneath spot routes a bit.
The bobcat offense is going to lean on the heavy packages and the counters to negate the griz pressure and exploit their physical dominance late in the game.
Any griz adjustments to that will just be gambling with blitz packages and big plays. That makes for a crap shoot. Both teams are capable but the odds are definitely leaning to the cats.
