Semi-Final Tickets (If the Griz win)

We have a very strong team Coyote Team coming to town on Saturday. Montana State has a good SFA team coming to Bozeman. I don't want to dismiss the games that lie ahead, but IF both teams win, I have a question/comment:

  • I've heard that we would get an allotment of tickets. I assume those tickets would need to be purchased through Griz Tix whenever they may be released?
  • I see cat fans are rightfully planning to purchase surplus tickets (up to 8 additional per season ticket holder it appears) to prevent there from being any extra available tickets for Griz fans to purchase once they are released. Bums me out, but I'd imagine much of Griz nation would attempt to do it similarly if the roles were reversed. I assume there would be a handful of those that don't find a home and they try to sell them out on Stub-Hub for a high price?
I really hope to go to this game if it indeed happens, but seems like it may be tougher and pricier than what I'd hope for...

We get our allotment that are mandated by the NCAA for opposing teams. If we don't buy them, they go back to the university. I highly doubt there are going to be much extra for people to by an extra 8. The price is set by the NCAA for playoff games and can't be higher than the lowest price ticket for a home game (I do believe) That is why I was able to get my tickets to SDSU game last weekend for 25 dollars a ticket. If you buy them on the secondary market, they will get jacked up quite a bit.
 
On another note, the semi-final matchups are slated for 4:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. ET on the 20th. No Friday night semifinal game this year apparently. Does anybody have any thoughts or insight into which time slot we would be in? (If we win this week of course.)

At this point it's "gods Only Knows". So, a 50-50 proposition? No not really. If previous experience is any indicator, you will be fine.

Inevitably the TV gods (see above) will choose to have the Montana teams play at night, in December, possibly in subzero weather with steady winds to maximize frostbite. Meanwhile the other game being played in Texas or California will get the afternoon slot so their fans and the teams down there don't get chilled.

I swear more often than not, games at warmer weather locations or inside domes are given the earlier slots and any later nighttime games go to the outdoor frozen venues. So, your odds are better than 50-50.

I'm hoping for the later time slot, and I just feel like it will be that way.

I was planning to be in Abilene for the Lady Griz games up there and I believe those are both in the afternoon, which gives time to get back to lodging and watch the football game.

I was absolutely miserable this past Saturday, my wife's family holiday party over in Galveston and the link to the radio kept going out. Not going to go through that again.

It is up to the World Wide Commissioner of all Sports (ESPN), but I just feel like they will have a bigger audience if Montana is the later game.

I had no idea the Lady Griz are playing ACU! I think I will have to go watch that game! But that is a Friday game actually so it's not the same day as the semi-final. The ladies will play Tarleton on Saturday afternoon in Stephenville.

Ya I got bad news for you. The first semi is on ABC, and the second one is on ESPN2. If it’s Brawl 2.0 then that game is absolutely going on ABC. So it’s most likely gonna be the earlier one of the two.

Season ticket holders are allowed to get an extra 8 for the semi-final game. I called to get my extra 8 today. Have no idea what they'll cost me yet, but it's worth it.

If you're really nice I'll only double the rates for you. ;)

Double? Thats waaaaaay to cheap.

Especially for what the um ticket office was charging for cat/griz.

Complaining about ticket prices, never expected that from a graduate of a STEM school. $200 is a billing hour…..

Do you get to do that for this game too? Or is that just a Griz thing?

Schedule says Tarleton game is in Abilene.

Oh duh. I forget about these things in basketball. I just looked at the schedule briefly and it has Tarleton State on the bottom so I assumed they were at home. It's probably a tournament. Maybe I should just stick to watching football. Haha.
