Congrats to the Cats for today’s best attendance: 20,867. Next was Tarleton: 19,742.
Then the Griz: 18,197 (we should be ashamed)
NDSU: 10,464
Lehigh: 8,848
SFA: 8,645
Mercer:3,047
Davis - to be determined tonite

FWIW, the Griz and Cats had nearly as many as the other five teams combined.
 
My only thought is that it is time for the immediate Missoula area community to SHOW Up.
The weather was great for December. No reason that Missoula area Griz fans did not fill the stadium. You missed a great game live if you didn’t come.
FYI- the Griz fans that came were loud and made a big difference. 5 snap infractions on SDSU.

People plan their lives around the "forecast". By Wednesday many had bailed because it was going to be cold and rainy. Hard to understand.
 
Sadly a bunch of “fans” let the loss to the cats affect their desire to come to the game as well. Seems to happen often. Fairweather Griz fans

This was my first full season since 2018! We let go of our season tickets around that time but with student tickets I never miss an opportunity to go to a game. Have made it to all home games this year plus @ Weber
 
Seriously, to be fair... historically second round games in Missoula are typically about 18-20k for attendance numbers. The roads to Missoula weren't great after that winter storm hit last night, so I'm actually pretty impressed that we got 18k+ there. Next week, we'll probably see 20-22k.

Serious question - where the F was everybody? I don’t understand all the empty seats, Taylor Swift concert in town??

As mentioned above, I think many people didn’t want to chance it on the roads. Snowed hard all day Friday after melting snow on Thursday and was solid ice around here Saturday morning. Forecast was rain and snow for the game. A lot of empty seats around us that I know were sold when I looked on Friday. Pretty similar to the Delaware crowd a couple years ago.

Maybe couldn’t tell from those end zone shots but was still represented on the sides and north end zone. Don’t know if the broadcast showed it but a bunch of students moved over into the south end zone in the second half and took off their shirts and it grew steadily through the 4th quarter. They were getting rowdy and hanging a fun time.

As always the playoff crowd was just as loud. I just wish whoever tries to start the Montana Grizzlies chant on the West side would learn to do it when we are on defense. 🤦‍♂️

Makes sense. The broadcast did show the shirtless kids having fun. Hopefully better weather for Saturday for an ABC national afternoon game. An awesome chance to show America the Mecca of FCS college football!! Go Griz !!
