I can guarantee I know very little about football when compared to other posters. This much I do know. A gauge of a programs success can be based on a teams fan board. Let’s take a look at Egriz. Numerous Cat posters are on Egriz throughout the year. They show up in droves when something good happens with their team. Now let’s look at Bobcat Nation. I don’t post there and rarely go to that site. If I do, it is to look at something specific like recruiting activity. Based on the activity of both sites and the number of posters from the opposing team, the Griz own MSU fans. How? They are living rent free in their heads. MSU just won the rivalry game, has home field advantage and their fans are spending time posting on Egriz. So very little brother. When the Griz win, I don’t run to BN to pound my chest like something amazing happened. To beat the Cats is expected. Griz have competition now and have to bring their A game to the Brawl. Pendulums swing. I won’t be on BN posting when it does again. A good chance it could swing in the three Saturday’s. Then Cat fans will be making excuses on Egriz. It’s only sensible. They practically live on this site.

Griz Derangement Syndrome. That's what it is. I have never visited eCat.

This is absolutely true. I remember being a young boy in 1983 when the bobcats were terrible at 1-10 and last place in the big sky conference. But it didn't stop them from walking around Bozeman or the campus and acting like they were super bowl champions. The difference was that it was the players that were arrogant. The cat fans weren't awful to the griz fans like the griz fans were during the streak. Just my experience.

While I will participate in a little smack talk, that's not the main reason. Main reason? It's entertaining. Having the same old stale conversation with the same old people time after time is boring. At least for me, and I know this isn't the case for everybody, but none of it is for validation. I honestly do not care what the posters here think of the Cats. I just like discussion, I like to talk a little smack, and I like to talk football. I have no issues with Griz fans tbh. I've never understood the idea that going civilly to the other teams board is a huge aggression, and sign of "little brotherness", and as a Bobcat I should be an expert in "little brotherness", but perhaps others are more sensitive than me. Being civil is respected and appreciated. At least by me. Other cat posters fall into different category. They know who they are and they are on the board frequently. I don’t get bored on Egriz. Entertained? Certainly. I find no reason to go to BN for more than once or twice a year. To each their own though. Now, Hoops and I don’t agree on a lot of things. I really appreciate that he is a passionate fan. I can see why some would want to aggravate him. I don’t want to.

This why bcn sucks. It's an echo chamber and any dissenting opinion is almost instantly band. I hate the trolls here -- and there are far too many -- but I love that eGRIZ allows opposing views.

I don't entirely disagree with you on BCN, but I do think there's better football talk over there. I really wish they would let opposing fans engage more, but they don't, and unfortunately many of the comes that there from here are pretty poor trolls. And, I think because MSU was in a rough spot for most of our youths, we're more willing to say when things aren't as they should be on the field. From an outsiders viewpoint, while there is some dissension here, most of it is from your own trolls (steve dill?) who just spout negativity for the sake of being negative, but otherwise it seems like anybody who suggests that things aren't as good as they should be gets shut up pretty dang quick. I think there's more of an echo chamber than you realize, but that's just my viewpoint as an outsider. I'm certainly not here enough to absolutely argue that point.

I will disagree on one thing. Dissent is tolerated by the mods. (I did get band one time for continuing to talk about something when I was warned. I was treated fairly, yet I remain bitter about it to this day! ). I have been very critical of BH at times and I know my view was not popular. Others disagreed with me and I might have been told that I never played the game. Yet, I got to express my views, no matter how wrong they were. I don’t think Egriz is an echo chamber. I do think trolls lower other poster’s patience though. You are correct. Lots of the trolls appear to be Griz fans.

I haven't noticed more than a half dozen posters on BN who actually know anything about football. Better discussion on football? Good joke.

I wasn't trying to imply that the mods don't tolerate dissent, rather that the mob rule does not always allow for it. I have not seen it on BN where Bobcat fans are not allowed to voice differing opinions either. I certainly have. I was calling for Ash to be fired far before it was popular (I cannot stress how much I hate him).

Include Central Washington. Include the strength of team when played. Idaho was very good early. Insert records against FCS teams.
Compare points differential of all teams played. Compare number of players with all conference mention. Compare number of players on Payton watch list. Compare number of players up for frosh of year. Compare number of OL who made first or second team all-conference. Compare QB’s and top RB. Compare number of players who acted like jerks after the game. Compare number of all conf players who got 15 tackles and 1 sack for season. Confirm that those stats are worst ever for a first team all-conference DL. And when you get this to us, I will give you the second half of my list.

Central Washington lost to Western Colorado in the first round. Western Colorado is almost entirely guys from Colorado that Northern Colorado didn’t recruit.
