The game we lost was also against the toughest opponent we played since he went out.

Last I heard, O'Groske and Van Tol will still be out. If I was the Griz coaches, I would game plan like they are there and then adjust if they aren't.

No, the calls for Loud's return are well-founded. The Griz have had to changed some of their defensive schemes/calls since he went out, and the Griz have fewer tools in the toolbox now.

I used to resemble that remark and still do once in a great while. It's hard to go from being an asshat to a rational adult.

Having a CB that can defend one of their top receivers alone on some downs can give the Griz another player to committ to stopping run or help in coverage etc.. One or two breakups of 3rd down passes in a game that will be as competitive as this one will be could be the difference.

Kenzel Lawler has been a revelation at CB for us. He's playing fantastic.

But he's also simply not as good at press man as Loud is, and not having that man lockdown corner has limited what our defense wants to do.

Go back and watch how aggressive our defense was against UND and then watch the MSU tape. It's night and day.

If Loud can play, being able to press is huge. Watching Mason against UNH (bad example because of the weather) he throws a lot of 5–7-yard outs. Taking that away can be huge to let our pressure get home.
