what worries me most about the scats....

Outside of Oregon and NAU, have the Cats played in a hostile road environment this year? Serious question because it matters. They won’t have the friendly confines of Reno Broken Halo stadium to settle into. They are literally playing in the mouth of the dragon.
NAU is a hostile environment?

Yes, the poor comparison was pointed out earlier by Da Boyz Mom. It’s all I could come up with on their schedule. They just haven’t had tough road games or hostile environments this year.
Whatever you have to tell yourselves to have that warm fuzzy feeling at least until Saturday.
The truth here is the cats probably have the slightly better team. But anyone that is confident one way or another is delusional, this is cat griz played in Missoula which definitely favors the griz.

Bobcats 49 - 10 it will not be close ~

* Griz can’t cover anyone this has been a issue all year, has not been addressed all year, and with as good as offense they have “Good night Irene”

* Stick a fork in the Griz they are done! Book it!!!!

What worries me most about the cats?

  • Their defense has been pretty lights out. They do a great job playing base defense and relying on their players to be assignment-sound and make individual plays.
  • They have consistently been able to stop/limit the run without needing more than 7 guys in the box.
  • Their secondary players are really, really good. We are going to have to make a lot of contested catches if we can't find ways for our guys to get separation.
  • Their pass rush with 4 guys has been consistent, even if not overwhelming. If they can get pressure with 4 guys, it's going to be a long day for us.
  • They have the #1 punt and kickoff return guys (statistically) in the conference. We feasted on good field position in '21, and we cannot allow them to have short fields.
  • Contrary to what I thought would happen, their rushing offense is only a little bit worse than what we're used to seeing. Calling it now, if they rush for more than 200 yards, we're going to lose.
  • Justin Lamson is the most efficient passer we've played all season. He hardly ever makes mistakes. Goes with the last point, but if he doesn't have to pass the ball more than 20 times, we're going to have a long day. We need to make him as uncomfortable as possible and put the entire game on his shoulders exactly like we did to Matt McKay in 2021.
  • Taco Dowler is our defense's worst nightmare. If he finds holes in our zones or gets away from his man in man coverage, he could score on any catch he makes.
  • Their OL will be the best we've seen since UND, and they've been just leaning on teams, averaging 6.4 ypc in conference play. We have to stop the run. Period.
We will need to play lights out in order to beat them. I'm very worried (shocker, right lmao) and think the home team's streak could be in jeopardy this weekend.
