Soccer today

Just read the GoGriz preview of the Sac State game this weekend and was alarmed by this:
* Players being recognized on Sunday: Bentler, Boone, Borseth, Ditta, Dvorak, Flynn, Henrikson, Parkhurst, Pascoe, Rendon-Bushmaker, Seelhoff.
I really hope that doesn't mean everyone on that list isn't planning on coming back next year. Hopefully, the few with eligibility remaining are just graduating early or something but might come back for a graduate/additional degree.

Bentler, Borseth, Ditta, Henrikson, Parkhurst, Pascoe, Rendon-Bushmaker, and Seelhoff are all seniors or R-Sr, so not a surprise. But it would suck to lose both of our top GKs that have eligibility left (Dvorak is R-Jr while Flynn is R-So). (Georgia Boone is listed as a R-Jr, as well, but has been limited from playing time throughout her career apparently due, in part, to injuries.)

I also was hoping Kayla Rendon-Bushmaker would be back next year because 1. she's good but 2. also give Eli Gillman another reason not to transfer next year either.

Looks like the news is official that Flynn is transferring per her social media. She mentioned that she is graduating early as well (spring ‘26).

Definitely a tough spot to be in but ultimately I think makes the most sense for all parties. Wish her well!

NAU goes up 1-0 on Weber State. only 13 mins in, though. UNC had a 3-0 lead on ISU at half before I switched over. EWU beat PSU 1-0 last night. All good things from Montana's perspective.

WSU tied it up in the 2nd to earn the 1-1 draw. UNC ended up winning 3-0 over ISU.

So, the team (PSU) that was in control of their own destiny for a conference championship on Thursday lost and lost that control. Then, WSU was the team that controlled their own destiny entering Friday and they only got a single point from a draw thus taking the control from them. Now, UM and Idaho have the highest possible points remaining.

If both Montana and Idaho were to win out and tie with 17 points, the H2H was a 0-0 draw but Montana beat WSU (currently the next highest team but things could change) 4-0 while Idaho lost to them 3-1.

Fantastic - thanks for this deep dive!

Dvorak announced she'll be back next year and Griz beat Sac State 1-0!

Other Sunday scores:
-WSU beat UNC 1-0
-Idaho and PSU tied 1-1 with about 4 mins left in the game
-ISU and NAU tied 2-2 in the 73rd minute

So if I’m reading this right, then the Griz can win it outright with a win against PSU, but it looks like if we tie then we’d still clinch at least a share and would hold the tiebreaker. So it appears that the only outcome that could hurt us is a loss. Correct?

Well, if the Griz tie they would get a single point to finish with 15. WSU currently has 13, so if they get a win at ISU they would get 3 points and the title with 16 points.

So, "Just win, baby!"

Crap that’s right. I’m used to the NHL where it’s 2 points for a win and 1 point for the OTL.

Love it - was great having Andrew back in Missoula on the call for today’s games as well.

Griz had a 2-1 lead with 12 seconds remaining and Idaho had a free kick from mid field and somehow, someway... scored in final seconds... unreal goal to give up.... in OVERTIME now
