I hope the Seelhoff injury isn’t serious… feels like the injury bug has bitten strongly the past few years. I don’t know enough to know if it’s common across collegiate soccer, but noteworthy nevertheless.

Her gait didn't seem to be bothered. I almost think it had something to do with bracing for landing and hurting a hand, wrist, elbow, arm, shoulder, collar bone, etc. It looked like the trainer was supporting her arm up as they walked off. Which, if true, I would think would be easier to play with than a leg injury so it would be a good sign to get her back sooner, hopefully.I hope the Seelhoff injury isn’t serious… feels like the injury bug has bitten strongly the past few years. Great insights - I hope we are doing those little things, but I’m not sure and outside looking in it’s hard to see so many key injuries year after year. The comprehensive list we could make over the last few years with season ending injuries team would compete to win the Big Sky by themselves. Not this common. 25% of the team is out for the year with either ACLs (5 or 6) and other injuries, including today's (ugh). It is either a mathematical anomaly of bad luck, or the way we're strength-training them. Women's soccer players should be strength-trained like they are women and are soccer players, particularly in ways that can significantly reduce ACL injuries among women. Such strength training would be night-and-day different from a football player or any "traditional" weight lifter. Or a men's soccer player, for that matter.
Do we do that???
Exactly what I was going to say. I can’t imagine they aren’t. Nice win against ISU. I wonder why Dvorak did not play the whole game like she has for the past several weeks. Was she injured or did Citowicki just want to give #2 some playing time. Personally I think Dvorak is the better goal keeper.
This year seems like it's been especially bad. I know we've had season ending injuries in the past, but this year seems like it's a whole new level. This is like Lady Griz under Shannon bad. I think we can chalk it up to bad luck and hopefully Citowicki in the offseason can do a deeper dive into weight training and evaluate all that stuff.
Possible complacency?Exactly. The women's basketball ACL situation back then was what made me wonder about this team. There was questioning of strength training techniques at that time. Maybe things haven't changed at UM?
She is out with a broken collar bone, the amount of injuries this year and last are astronomical and needs to be addressed. Sad season for soccer...again.I hope the Seelhoff injury isn’t serious… feels like the injury bug has bitten strongly the past few years. Hard to win post season tournaments without your best players. Year after year. Unbelievable - thanks for the update. She is out with a broken collar bone, the amount of injuries this year and last are astronomical and needs to be addressed. Sad season for soccer...again.
A broken collar bone is a fluke thing. The knee injuries on the other hand are something they could potentially look into. She is out with a broken collar bone, the amount of injuries this year and last are astronomical and needs to be addressed. Sad season for soccer...again.
Despite all that they just keep on winning. Are they all season ending? Or is there a chance we could get some back?Hard to win post season tournaments without your best players. Year after year. Unbelievable - thanks for the update.

Really a testament to this coaching staff. With the turnaround at Weber this year the WSU coach probably has a good argument for Coach Of The Year honors but I hope Citowicki will be recognized for all the adversity his staff/program has overcome.Despite all that they just keep on winning.
There has been mentioned that they are expecting Reeve Borseth back sometime this season but I almost wonder if it would be better at this point if she got a medical redshirt and came back next year for a whole season (that is, of course, if she were interested in extending her studies).Or is there a chance we could get some back?
The fact that Dvorak was just named Big Sky defensive player of the week, I think justifies my comment of two days ago. Both are excellent players and goalies and I just happen to think that Dvorak is better and her overall record speaks for itself.Injury? Did she heal over the 45 minutes of the first half, lol?
Instead of piling on, I give the second string mucho props. The announcers sang her praises as she kept them in the game with save after save until Montana woke up in the second half. The announcers seemed surprised that they made a switch at halftime instead of staying with the hot hand. It wouldn't have mattered as ISU never made a serious threat to score in the second half, but I'm confused with you.
Chippy game.
her overall record speaks for itself.
