I threw some shade both last week and today. While I don’t care for the 3-3-5, it’s undeniable that without the defenses heroics and great play through all 4 quarters the Griz would not have won this game. They played much better today. Prince ford even redeemed himself a bit with a nice pick. Just very impressed that they not only gave up just 9 points, but also that they scored 7 of our 28 points, forced three turnovers, pressured the QB and pitched a second half shutout. My hat is off to them. That’s the new standard. Play like that every game and we’re in business! Go Damn Griz!!!!

The first six possessions of the second half for CP they ran 18 plays for 20 yards, one pick six and five three and outs.

Props to you for acknowledging the improvement as well as your criticism last week. I knew we'd see a performance like this this week. Last week was part bad play by us, part Idaho state playing out of their minds and bad matchups for us, and part of it was playing without 2 of our studs on that side of the ball in first half.

It just seemed to me that Rocker got the ball when it really mattered. I think all of the running backs are terrific, so I definitely am not favoring one over another.
It seemed to me it really mattered when Griz finally got the 14-9 lead, then the ball back, handed to Gilman three times from a midfield start, and were up 21-9. Game over.

Seems we disagree on what seems to really matter.

I didn't check the play by play but seemed to me the Griz punted more when Rocker got his series.

I like them both too. But Gilman is a Payton candidate for a reason and Rocker isn't.

Playing bad teams makes everything look rosey doesn't it
Montana would still be 6-0 with NDSUs schedule, in fact I’d wager the SOS of both teams is about the same right now. Not to mention, Cal poly had top ten ranked UC Davis on the ropes last week and lost by one score. So I’m not buying that CP was a “bad team”. Paul Wulff and rosy and vonappen have the mustangs headed in the right direction.

It seems to me that posters who spend most of their time chasing others posters, maybe just me, around for typos and little mistakes, and who are touting our Payton award candidate in posts, should learn how to spell Gillman's name correctly.

If I read Massey correctly, Massey had UM's schedule as tougher than NDSU's so far.

Thanks for finding that. I thought that would be the case. NDSU will have to prove it. They’ve got UND and SDSU coming up, both of which are good. I think UND is the better of those two teams this year and will really make things hard for NDSU in the alerus center. Either way. Lots of season left, and both teams have some tough outs coming up.
