Post game presser?

Give BH a one line response like “not going to talk strategy”. I’d rather hear him repeat that ten times as a response than observe first hand that bullying is alive and well at UM. Tarnished the win and will affect collections at Foundation level from this household. Just a small time potential donor but there are lots of us.

Do you the Griz not ever sub at the other OL positions? I don't know, because I don't focus on the OL. I don't know rotating of the centers either.
You obviously are an armchair- computer fan. You have to search the computer to justify your statement as usual. You don't know football either.

Reactions: KJB
Bobby Hauck represents the face of the Grizzlies during these interviews and press conferences. His reaction to Frank’s question is a terrible look for the University of Montana. How hard would it have been to say something like “we have two good centers that we can rotate to keep fresh like we do other positions on the offensive line”?
Too bad the interview had to end that way after a great win to celebrate.
Or he could say something like "You've asked me that question several times now, and I'm not going to answer it. Anything else?"

Fair point. But also, hes not wrong. Frank has asked about it several times. Beyond that, they rotated other linemen yesterday as well! Isn't it odd frank only asked about the center? Bobby literally rolls at *almost* every other position. If he keeps badgering bobby about *1* single position, he should expect that type of response.
no, it isn't odd to ask about the center, the position is considered almost as important as the qb, since they often call out the blocking schemes based on what they are seeing from the opposition. qbs don't often get rotated, either, although it seems a bit more common nowadays.

Frank ruined any chance with Bobby last year after the cats loss in Bozeman. I posted his idiotic, intrusive, poking question last week that pissed Bobby off then and made him dislike Frank for the rest of eternity. Frank deserves whatever he gets after that one. It was an insanely stupid question at an insanely stupid time to ask it.

If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. He makes the big bucks to not only coach the games, but also stand there and take questions from the media. Frank asked a legitimate question whether Bobby liked It or not. I think his response was immature and petty. Haslam needs to tell him to knock it off but he won't.
My view is to stop whining and being a baby. Bobby is a great coach and can do what he wants in press conferences. Many coaches are like this.

Represents the face of the Grizzlies? What’s that? He’s the football coach.

I'm thinking Bobby and Frank have talked about this before and Bobby has told him he won't answer the question multiple times and Frank won't stop asking the question. At some point, Frank has to get it through his thick skull that Bobby's not gonna answer the question and stop poking the Grizzly bear. We all know what happens when you poke a Grizzly one time too many.

No, he shouldn’t and asking a question isn’t badgering. His response was over the top. If anything it makes Frank look like a victimized reporter. Bad look for Hauck.
Asking the same question over and over is badgering. Does it really matter why and how players are subbed? Isn’t one question good enough? It’s not like this was the first time the Griz played 2 centers these 2.

we all have had to deal with people we didn't like in work situations. i know of no business where being a jerk to those people is considered acceptable, and college football is definitely a business.
There’s an exception. Good football coaches don’t have to be nice to weak sports reporters who continue to ask dumb questions. After a great and tough game like that, aren’t there dozens of better and more important topics. Like why do the Griz sometimes use Deck and sometimes use Worthsm on punt returns. How do you decide to use the wildcat? Does Gillman mind when the OL doesn’t open holes for him?

I find it interesting that we're discussing this at length on e-griz which we all know is known for its compassionate, sympathetic responses. While it might not have been the best response to the best question here are two men doing their jobs so we all can enjoy college football. I for one don't think either need to be taken out behind the barn or be talked to by their bosses... Just maybe we're overreacting to a couple of professionals who just went through the emotions of a great game?

Gimme a break. What about the people’s business at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? Too many consider such jerk-ass behavior acceptable. There are many other jerks in business and they show it. Some jerks consider it their brand. I don’t like it in any context but people need to learn how to deal with it instead of whining pontification.

My family and I increase our donations. We like the Griz and Bobby and don’t like the Missoulian. Ha.

Okay. Have you seen any USC games this season? I see in my googling that it isnt common or is uncommon. Thx.
I haven’t watched much USC ball, do they rotate too? Not sure. But I do know that it is extremely uncommon to rotate centers. If Bobby wants to, he’s the coach and gets to make that decision, but for him to get so upset over a reporter asking about it is unfair when it’s a very uncommon thing to do.

The coach of the football team is absolutely the face of the Grizzlies and the University. Ask people who the President is and then ask who the football coach is. More often than not, they will know the football coach, not the President. (Engstrom was so terrible that he might be the exception). Same with basketball. Coaches are the face of the university and are compensated appropriately for their role. Remember Bobby Petrino at Arkansas in 2012? I don’t remember the President of the universities name. I remember Bobby Petrino though. Nick Saban, yep. President - no. Pete Carroll, yep. President, no. I could go on, but why? The coaches are the face of the universities.
