Wing Targeting Call

"Just scheduled my 9th international trip in the last 3.5 years. A month in Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania."

How could I possibly construe that as bragging? I'm sure there are an abundance of people at those destinations who know more about college football than you and can help increase your football IQ.
Maybe you can get in some more low-level coaching and officiating on your trip.
Please keep us posted.
People like you are jealous because you've never done or accomplished anything that you could brag about.

Have already been to Sydney, Melbourne, Bali, Lombok, Singapore, Bali, Phuket and Bangkok, as well as Turkey, Ireland and London, this year. Attended Australian Open and Wimbledon. Going to Mexico City and San Miguel de Allende soon. Ukraine would be a good place for some of you.
So impressive. Wow, and to think most of my trips have only been of the government sponsored variety to all of the top tourist destinations.

I have never said or thought that playing college football was necessary to understand football. But I can see things in posts that show that some haven't played much football. Bobby and my wife and I are pretty good friends. Her brother is one of Bobby's best friends and confidants and is a consistent significant donor.
So do you just continually remind him of your football prowess and knowledge or do you hand him your resume every time you see him?

Wait a minute...your favorite/most frequent insult to other posters is "I played college football...you never played the game." You have used it to nauseum.

And now you're saying..."I never said or thought that playing college football was necessary to understand football."

Really? And you wonder why people laugh at you.

And Rodney Dangerfield used to say, ad nauseam, "I get no respect". It's a hoops tag line, get in on the joke.

I know we're busy arguing about stupid stuff, but in getting back to the original topic - on the coaches show last night Bobby made a very interesting point. He said, " I did not know that you could get a targeting call on tackle on a guy who was running away from you. I learned something new Saturday night in that game."

I know Welnel and have met Gubner several times. I have the info, but I bet you don't. That's why I tested you. My impression was that your football career was fairly short. Did you get any playing time?
Lots, even in the NC game. Unfortunately you have talked to me on the field. Super weird but you do you

That's really weird, because last year you said this about being in Frisco:

Same.

A bunch of us former players met in Frisco everything was super easy, clean and new. Food was great, hotels were within walking distance and stadium was easily accessed
Probably a lot different experience for you then. We stayed 2 blocks from Toyota stadium. Had bars and food within 4-6 blocks walking in at least 2 different directions. Rented a car thinking I needed one and drove it to the hotel and never used it again except to haul people to Grizfest at the baseball field. Took an Uber to Tightends once to see what all the hubub was about. then back to airport to fly back to Montana
It's cool that you had so much time to rent a car and go to Grizfest, the bars and restaurants while you were also practicing and preparing to win a national championship. I guess coach Hauck isn't the hardass we all assumed.

eGriz never disappoints lmao

Kind of reminds me of the last time I was in Flagstaff. There was a guy sitting about 2 rows back directly behind me that was bragging he was part of the 95 team, and you could tell he wasn't just by some of the things he said. Then he started talking about how he knew Larry Krystkowiak and had graduated from high school with him and I had to throw the BS flag.
I told him I had known Larry since he was a Junior at Big Sky and that was 1981, first year it was opened, so there was no way he spent all that time in high school, particularly because the man used to bum copenhagen dips off me all the time when I would run into him walking across campus or when I would see him at the poker table in Stocks.
Dude called me a liar, so I just dropped it, and he didn't say a word the rest of the game.

What part is confusing for you?

Mostly how you were already a former player in 2023 that somehow also played in the national championship game.

I think you have some good takes, man. I don't know why you feel you need to pretend to be a former player to give them legitimacy, though.
I see now, its my fault. It was not my intention to word that the way I did. I played quite a bit AND I was even at the NC game. I was done playing by the time that game happened.

I remember you saying you played with Ah Yat and practiced against him. How would that have been possible if you were done before 2023?

I don't actually care if you are a former player or not. Like I told you in that other thread, I'd rather have you here debating people than not. I was reading your posts in the game thread vs UND and loved it.

I don't care if you or anyone else believes me or not. I know the truth.

I know Bobby well. He knows where I played, what I've done, and where I've been. His dad and my father-in-law were contempories in Montana coaching. Another Dartmouth alum and I took Bobby and Walt Brett to the Ivy Football Dinner in NYC just over 15 years ago. As the dinner ended, we introduced Bobby to Chris Berman, who is always the co-MC of the event. Boomer is a Brown graduate. Boomer knew exactly who Bobby was, and immediately complimented Bobby on a great season. It must have been after the 2008 or 09 seasons. Bobby is tight with my wife's brother who is a big Griz supporter and UM alum. We know most of the Hauck family. I love Bobby's mom, sisters and wife, and Tom was my friend. So, my family and my wife's family are not just Another Griz Family or Fan.

I partied with Hunter S. Thompson once. Hung out at Luke’s. “Death to the Wierd”
