Good, Bad, Ugly - UND

Good:

- Kyon Loud is the best cover corner we have had since Trumaine Johnson. They left him on an island and he delivered time and time and time again. Love the juice and energy he plays with
- our all conf transfer Tolbert was an absolute stud at LB today. In fact a number of LBs played well but Tolbert stood out
- Ah Yat bounced back from a rough first half to put up huge numbers in the second half, engineer two scoring drives, and a game winner in 2 minute drill. Had 300 yards passing and made some big time throws.
- I said in break out player thread that Brooks Davis was about to introduce himself to the rest of the Big Sky. He looks like one of the best young receivers not only in the league but all of FCS. Elite speed, quickness, and route running. He broke that DBs ankles on his game winning TD
- big time FG by Morrison that came in key
- some big boy runs by Eli when not much was happening in the run game overall
- Clay Oven with a huge hit on special teams
- Gale with some big catches at TE

Bad:

- another ugly 1st half by the Griz on both sides of ball
- gave up too many sacks

Ugly:

- UND passing up points not just once but twice from the Griz 15ish while also missing a critical PAT

Feel free to add!

Good: The team believing in each other and themselves and staying resilient in the face of unbelievable odds to win the game.
Bad: Some members of Griz Nation complaining about the play-calling and play during the game before the final score was decided.
Ugly: Some members of Griz Nation quitting on this team.

Gotta give a shout out to Stevie Rocker jr. Great move on his TD to bounce it outside, and what a huge catch on 4th and long on the sideline on the last or 2nd to last drive.

Good: The chemistry between Ah Yat and Davis. It is fun to watch and will hopefully provide fond memories not only this year, but for some years to come.

Bad: Monte's Uber driver of the Humvee not showing up until the game had started. Monte looked like a lost puppy walking into the stadium before the game without the advantage of a grand entrance. Something went awry there.

Ugly: The Chicken Little's of Griz Nation coming out in force after we just beat a Top 25 team. It wasn't pretty, but winning is hard and we are now 2-0.

Good-tackling/wrapping up improved. Finally saw Ah Yat connect on stretching the field with the long ball. Morrison is CLUTCH. D looked much improved. Keon Loud is the real deal. The pure grit and determination of this team to rally in crunch time to win.

Bad-offensive play calling at times was baffling. 0 sacks. O line play passing off defenders was not pretty at times. Continuity of the Offense to get first downs and extend drives looked rough most of the game.

Ugly- UND leaving all those points on the field😂 Griz Nation giving up on the guys and not coming back into the stadium. Broadcasting team showing replays/ cut aways while live action was going on🤬

Good: The effort of the last 5 possessions of the game.
The first started with a UND punt to our 8 with '7:27 left and resulted in the drive stalling out at the UND 25 and a field goal that cut the lead to 23-17 with 4:23 left and although we all wanted the TD, settling for the field goal swung the momentum and gave reason for optimism and Morrison was huge with the 42 yard kick.
Next one started at the UND 25 with 4:23 left and after 3 plays and 6 yards, a punt gave us the ball back on our 30 with 2:42 left.
With the help of a horse collar and despite a sack, the fourth and 12 conversion was like an omen that this was going to happen and Davis was amazing on the double move that left the UND defender with drool running down his chin as #3 crossed the goal line with 1:35 to play.
Lots of time for the answer, but the UND lack of urgency was unbelievable as they managed only 18 yards in 7 plays before turning the ball over on downs.
With :34 seconds left on the clock Montana lined up in the sweetest of all formations to take a knee and run out the clock.
Bad: Multiple screen passes on third and forever that fooled no one.
Ugly: Keon Loud's unsportsman like penalty. As a team, Montana needs to stop getting selfish penalties and falling for the bait on retaliation.

Agreed on the screen passes Griz in Texas...too predictable and same outcome for the screen pass as last year's ND game...horrible play calling at times on Saturday!

Agreed it was ugly but sure didn't look like he was baited from where I was sitting...
I wasn't saying he was baited, I am talking about the ones we normally see out of o-line and defense for retaliating. If they played like they already had one call against them and were worried about getting ejected? I don't know, but I've seen enough of these and it's all selfish and senseless.

Couldn't agree more... took away from a great defensive stand...

The good: UND's missed XP | KAY finally coming into his own as the General of the offense | Loud | Wing once again | actually the entire D was pretty impressive | Brooks Davis | Stevie Rocker | the second half of the game.

The Bad: The first half of the game | Screens that Little Griz defenses could read | interceptions again | personal fouls.

The Ugly: The look the strange woman in my house gave me after she told me her team is 4-0 and my team is only 2-0, and I told her the only team her team has played that is good was a wet noodle Army team that should have been in the field doing Army stuff and not in a football stadium doing man stuff. Yup, happily spent yet another Saturday night on the couch.
