This year is also KAY's redemption tour to prove all the haters and doubters wrong. I couldn't be happier for the kid. KAY was 25-39 (64%) for 300 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs and a 135.4 QB rating. He stayed committed, resilient, remained poised in the face of huge pressure and executed when it mattered most. Those are the characteristics of a championship quarterback.

They definitely have to work on their assignments and how to communicate and pass off rushers to each other.

Both the O-Line and WRs need to step up a bit to help him out as well.

Yeah, people need to lay off KAY...he picked himself off the deck time after time and delivered strikes when they were needed the most--like good QBs do. If he had even average protection, he'd be able to evade most pass rushes and make plays a very high percentage of the time.

That being said, North Dakota is definitely a very good team, so you have to give some of the credit for the poor protection to just facing a talented defense.

On the first interception, it was Brooks Davis' inexperience that led to the interception. Later this year or next year, he will comeback to the ball to make the reception, force a PI penalty, or break up the interception.

He has a short term memory that empties right away now. Hes not dwelling on the previous play or drive. And when it mattered, he completed the passes he needed to, to win the game. Even after the two interceptions and being sacked 6 times. He growing as a football player and a leader on the field. I bet his mom and dad are proud tonight. He's on the same track as his dad.

That's fair, didn't see all the game to work but good to know. There were a few throws that made me hold my breath a bit/forced so I guess that'd be a better way to phrase it.

On the first interception, it was Brooks Davis' inexperience that led to the interception. Later this year or next year, he will comeback to the ball to make the reception, force a PI penalty, or break up the interception.

Well, there actually WAS PI on that play…22 had ahold of his jersey damned near the entire way down the field…no call.

I actually thought that one was more KAY’s fault…ball was thrown behind Bohanon as he was cutting across. If it was in front of him he would have likely come down with it cleanly.

I agree. Those picks are a two way street. Better ball placement, but it still should have been caught. Didn't mind the first pick as much, basically like a punt downfield. I expect a cleaner game from KAY next week!

I had a somewhat different take. I think Ah Yat could be good, I’m not saying he couldn’t. I thought he played well when he had a LOT of time. Like, maybe sometimes more than a some high level QBs require. There were three or four sacks where he had no time, yes, but there were many other plays where he had tons of time.

I guess my thought is it has to be pretty tough as an OL when you have to consistently provide your QB 4+ seconds of time to “look good” in pass protection.

Could be WRs, could be OL, could be QB, and I’m not saying any of them suck. It was just my observation that Ah Yat generally only looked in rhythm getting the passes out when they were sideways (designed). Just my observation.

Hey man, we pay you to do one thing, and one thing only on here, and that's entertain us with your jokey jokes. I don't want to hear about your oPiNiOnS, or the fact that we don't pay you, either.

But I guess if you insist on being serious, I'll humor you.

The kid has a ways to go, but the fact that he was able to pull off the turnaround, hang in there late, and hit his receivers in crunch time, is HUGE progress from what we've seen.

The main way to get better at getting the ball out is to just get more experience being in the fire like that. I was honestly feeling a little doomer-ish during halftime about the state of our QB situation, but the kid came out and finally showed the type of play we need him to be able to do (that he hasn't until this moment).

There's no way Ah Yat from last year wins this game, so the fact that he did makes me feel like, even with the struggles, there's a light at the end of his tunnel, and I'm excited to see what that could look like down the road.

He does not show great footspeed in avoiding rushers. Often I thought he could outrun DL or LB pursuers, but he was unable to. The sideways passes seemed to only forfeit a down. The OC has to have confidence in him to go vertical. That changed at the end when we had no choice. We stayed with the running game and sideways passes too long and should have exposed their secondary vulnerabilities earlier.

Blake Bohannon couldn’t secure a ball and it bounced off his chest and right into the defenders arms. Was not on KAY at all. Could argue that neither of KAY’s picks were his fault
