So there was some mention by Sac that the teams that play in the FCS are JV. Wondering how would you classify them overall ?
Thank you for your opinion.I was not looking for replies from the CJC but still managed a couple.Thankfully most have me on ignore so their replies will not happen. That being said what teams would you classify as mid major FBS.I don't think most of the past FCS teams with the exception of North Dakota could compete on an even basis with most FBS throughout league play. Not sure what you are asking, however I'll take a stab.
Top 30 FCS teams are probably FBS mid major level teams.
Starting talent on top 25 FCS teams are as good as most FBS teams and then depth is the issue.
Patriot league and HBCU teams and bottom teams from BSC, CAA and other conferences are probably mid level D-II teams.
I feel Mavman answered your question. Personally, I would say the top 15 FCS teams would be a FBS mid-major team.Thank you for your opinion.I was not looking for replies from the CJC but still managed a couple.Thankfully most have me on ignore so their replies will not happen. That being said what teams would you classify as mid major FBS.I don't think most of the past FCS teams with the exception of North Dakota could compete on an even basis with most FBS throughout league play.
My bad, I was under the impression this wasn’t a serious question.Thank you for your opinion.I was not looking for replies from the CJC but still managed a couple.Thankfully most have me on ignore so their replies will not happen. That being said what teams would you classify as mid major FBS.I don't think most of the past FCS teams with the exception of North Dakota could compete on an even basis with most FBS throughout league play.
It was not one for you to answer or could you as you don't have that intelligence to do that.My bad, I was under the impression this wasn’t a serious question.
My intelligence is camouflaged by lack of caring to give a legitimate answer. You’ll never see it.It was not one for you to answer or could you as you don't have that intelligence to do that.
I think it would take a few years with even scholarships and recruiting at the FBS level.Thank you for your opinion.I was not looking for replies from the CJC but still managed a couple.Thankfully most have me on ignore so their replies will not happen. That being said what teams would you classify as mid major FBS.I don't think most of the past FCS teams with the exception of North Dakota could compete on an even basis with most FBS throughout league play.
FCS today is a far cry from the days when they were classified as 1-AA. So much deeper in terms of the the amount of quality programs between 1980 - 2002. The FCS today has 10-12 programs that are fbs mid major quality year in year out. If anybody is JV, it’s the city of Sacramento, total dump.So there was some mention by Sac that the teams that play in the FCS are JV. Wondering how would you classify them overall ?
The top 1 FCS NDSU is FBS mid major or better. The next tier of FCS programs like Montana, Montana State, South Dakota and South Dakota State are probably not at a mid FBS level but could pull of an upset against even high level FBS teams if things go their way.The cats had all they could handle with New Mexico and at least at that time New Mexico sucked at the beginning of the season. As it sits right now we are not at any FBS level. So if the cats were #2 in the FCS and had all they could hand with New Mexico where does that put the rest of the teams ? JV ? Maybe SAC was but I would say the top 15 FCS are not mid major FBS right now.
Given all the blowouts in the FCS first round playoffs, I think maybe 5 teams, at best, could compete in FBS G6 level every weekI feel Mavman answered your question. Personally, I would say the top 15 FCS teams would be a FBS mid-major team.
I think one team, NDSU can compete in FBS G6 level every week. There is a second tier with maybe 10 teams that can upset G6 or power 5 teams but will lose more games than they win.Given all the blowouts in the FCS first round playoffs, I think maybe 5 teams, at best, could compete in FBS G6 level every week
Really, as I recall, not too long ago the Grizzlies beat a nationally ranked Udub team. I mean it may have been in an alternate universe, but I am pretty sure I recall all but losing my head when that 4th quarter came to a close. I also recall Oregon State getting beaten by the Griz a couple of times, BEFORE the advent of the portal. Living on the east coast, and in fact two miles from Marshall, I can guarantee that UM is every bit as competitive as Marshall, Ohio University, Uh JMU? Appalachian, etc.The cats had all they could handle with New Mexico and at least at that time New Mexico sucked at the beginning of the season. It's called "On Any Given Day".Sure it could and will happen but not on a regular schedule would they be able to compete as a FBS mid major. With the portal things have changed esp.this upcoming season. They are certainly moving in the right direction. We will see.Really, as I recall, not too long ago the Grizzlies beat a nationally ranked Udub team.
