Another MSU Federal Investigation (not related to athletics)

"The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) opened investigations into 45 universities under Title VI following OCR’s February 14 Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) that reiterated schools’ civil rights obligations to end the use of racial preferences and stereotypes in education programs and activities. The investigations come amid allegations that these institutions have violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act (1964) by partnering with “The Ph.D. Project,” an organization that purports to provide doctoral students with insights into obtaining a Ph.D. and networking opportunities, but limits eligibility based on the race of participants."

The universities now under investigation for allegedly engaging in race-exclusionary practices in their graduate programs include:

  • Arizona State University – Main Campus
  • Boise State University
  • Cal Poly Humboldt
  • California State University – San Bernadino
  • Carnegie Mellon University
  • Clemson University
  • Cornell University
  • Duke University
  • Emory University
  • George Mason University
  • Georgetown University
  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
  • Montana State University-Bozeman
  • [the list is longer]

To the Cat poster/observers who have contacts at MSU:

Can you get your school to pay for the cheer squad pompoms that were ordered on a rush basis right before the national championship game? I sat next to a guy at Indian Wells Tennis last week, who said: "Montana State had a good football team, right? They ordered cheer squad pom poms from us on a rush basis before the championship game, and never paid us. We contacted them, but still haven't gotten get payment." This is a old established company.

It's sort of embarrassing to have some business guy talking about how one of our state schools doesn't pay its bills. I'm assume it's an oversight, but, my god, get the bill paid. And, the guy wasn't pissed or anything, but if you order again before the bill gets paid, my guess is you aren't getting any pompoms.

The feds are so far up Waded’s ass that she can taste Brylcreem. I wouldn’t be surprised if she abruptly resigned and boarded a red eye for her villa in Puerto Rico with suitcases filled with cash.

Just disgraceful.

I believe it’s karma for her unjustified firing of Coach Ron Ash and her handling of DUI-gate.

Not surprising of the MSU, but why is this in the Football Forum? Pretty sure there are more appropriate places to put this.
There have been many threads on MSU's federal legal investigations in this section.

And, pom poms for the cheer squad for the football national championship game are part of this thread.

Another question. Why are people who don't understand football allowed to post in the football section?

I heard from the pom-pom Nazi…..
NO POM POMS FOR YOOOOUUUUU!!!

Isn't that over 20 on-going federal investigations over there? I mean, that's hard to do.

Man, that place is a dumpster fire.
You're hilarious, as if any of this will amount to a hill of beans. Nobody outside the UM has any idea any of it is even going on.

Why are all bubs such racists?

Hughes left MSU in part because he no longer wanted to face white supremacism, he said. He was called the “n” word at MSU, saw Nazi propaganda in trash cans on campus, and heard Bobcats at a football game “screaming racial slurs to members of the other team.”

I doubt many on this site even know what 'Brylcreem' was.
What goes around, comes around.

Ok. What was the guys name, and what was his companies name? I talked to the MSU people I know, and they did not order Pompons (the original way of spelling it) for the Championship game. If you could get me your persons contact info, I will call him.

Racism should neither come nor go around.

#mountains and closed minds.
Want to make sure I am getting this correct. The DOE is investigating these schools because they partnered with a group that gives insights into PH.D programs to people of color, and marginalized segments of the population? Am I correct on that?

Don’t know. Longtime company in Portland. Thx.
