This is a friendly recommendation to anyone who engages with him on Twitter (I did briefly), to avoid doing so. It’s a lose-lose situation for Griz fans. Regardless of your feelings toward the man, he’s getting exactly what he wants out of those interactions. I’d stay away from it. Better to start taking the high road.
 
Good advice! When I was a kid growing up in Deer Lodge, low security inmates (trustees) worked as groundskeepers at the golf course. We were told to avoid any/all engagement with them, because anyone who’s served time was always looking for an angle to work later. Leaf is no different, and I blocked him the moment he started showing up in my feed from his engagement with Griz fans.
 
I was all for giving Leaf a second and even a third chance, and I think most Montanans were as well because most of us, if we're not in recovery ourselves and trying to stay sober, know a relative and/or friend battling addiction and are in the lifelong process of recovery where relapse is unfortunately common. So I applaud Leaf traveling back to MSP in Deer Lodge since he himself was paroled, this time not wearing an orange or black and white striped wardrobe complete with handcuffs and encouraging inmates to live better honest, sober lives when they are paroled out of Deer Lodge.

But when he was arrested for domestic abuse in 2020 plus his recent comments on Twitter displaying a 13 year old juvenile delinquent is still trapped in a 45 year-old man's body and the severe GRIZ and Dave envy he suffers from, that was enough for me !!!

While I hope I am wrong, I don't think Leaf will ever change and I would not be gobsmacked to learn he has been arrested and is incarcerated again

It’s more sad for the state of Montana that someone like this has any association with our home. He has never and will never reach any level of maturity nor be a functional member of society. He has zero actual ties associated with either of our universities because he viewed anything in the state beneath him, until he had to insert himself to try and become relevant in the last place that may give him a chance.

He’s about as legendary as Al Bundy and carry’s himself with the same demeanor as the drunk at your local bar. Boastful, prideful, unabashedly narcissistic, and completely out of touch with reality.
 
I just read a post that he put on that said he raised almost $10,000 on X from all the Griz fans engaging with him and he’s donating it all to the cats NIL

I saw that over on the cats message board. It’s partially what prompted me to start this thread. Also, I tend to think it’s not good for us to bash the guy the way I’ve seen some people do. Luke 6:27-28 if you’re into that sort of thing lol.

lol he's almost certainly lying.

Twitter users have posted payouts in the hundreds of dollars with exponentially more reach and interactions than he's received.
 
You know it has to irk him that Brock Osweiler is getting the analyst spot on ESPN's FCS playoff games rather than him. Don't worry about him. As soon as people in Bozeman start putting Mellot above him in Montana quarterback conversations, he will turn on them too. I find the whole situation sad as I know many members of his family. His mother was very nice to to work with and his Grandmother's were the sweetest ladies. I don't know exact diagnosis, but I am sure you will find it in the DSM-5.

I remember those days in DL. As for Leaf, a misdirected human being.
