The Bizarro-Grizzlies.Griz 21 to 3 on Fast Break Points?
Good show! They let the Eags hang around (too much, IMO), but took over when it counted.Boom! Great run to step on their throats
After a while it seemed like they realized they were reffing a BSC game and not a PAC-2 Game and started making calls. But, yes, to be fair, it was pretty evenly called at least.Overall this was a well-officiated game.
But I'll never understand college BB officiating:
First half: "homicide is potentially a foul"
Second half: "well, you looked at him wrong".
Thanks. I was busy making dinner so I didn't get to see either until I finally got a chance at the half. Not wrong.
Great win on the road. UM and ISU with the road breakthoughs. Win Saturday and it puts you in the early driver's seat.First road win of the year, and have confidence going to Idaho. Need to keep the momentum and get the road sweep
What's your honest evaluation of Weber's first game and season to date? That first half was just rough from what I saw though I wasn't able to watch super close. Seemed like NCU was just able to get into the middle whenever they wanted.Great win on the road. UM and ISU with the road breakthoughs. Win Saturday and it puts you in the early driver's seat.
Scores from tonight:
Griz 92 Eastern 81
Idaho 69 cats 64
UNC 89 Weber 72
ISU 72 NAU 67
Sac State and Portland State get things started on Saturday.
Shoutout ISU coming back down 19 in the second half against NAU in the Sky dome. Bengals have won 9 in a row in Flagstaff. That’s more like the Shane Burcar we’ve come to know and love lol. Also Weber is ass! Randy Rahe has gotta be sick to himself seeing what his program has turned into.
Right now, Weber is still a work in progress. They still have not recovered from Dillon Jones leaving for the NBA. For the last couple of years it has been the DJ show, and there were a lot of spectators. Replacing his rebounding has been a big issue. Also, we have 5 freshmen on the team and 3 of them have been playing a lot. One of them was our leading scorer last night. When you play freshmen, you usually have to put up with them making more mistakes than when they get a little more experience. What's your honest evaluation of Weber's first game and season to date? Maybe a place more suited for Kent?Wanna know my honest thoughts on the state of Weber State athletics? I’ve said this in the Football forum before, but their AD sucks. It’s time for him to go. All he does is make internal hires. Look at the 2 big sports at Weber (Football, MBB). Mental and Duft are absolute jokes. The Duft hire at least made a little sense cause he was on staff for a long time, but the Mental hire was so head scratching and bizarre. It made zero sense. The guy had been on staff for 1 year as OC (wasn’t very good at that) over guys who had been on staff a very long time. Now you’re seeing the consequences with a mass exodus to the portal and multiple long time assistants bailing.
As for Basketball, Duft benefitted greatly from having Dillon Jones the last 2 years. And even then they were still middle of the pack. No team with a lottery pick in a mid major conference should EVER be middle of the pack. Now he’s gone and life suddenly gets a little tougher. I didn’t think Weber really looked very good at any point during non-conference and maybe they still need to gel with so many new pieces, but the handwriting on the wall is drying up very quickly. Time to put up or shut up.
It’s time for the AD at Weber to go. The guys a total chicken shit and refuses to conduct a national search in any program. He’s single handedly destroying the department with his cowardliness. I feel bad for Weber. They should be right up there with the Griz and cats in everything with their resources, location, etc.
