Why would any Griz fan root for our rival over the classy Bison?

I think one reason you might would be the increased pressure on BH to improve or get out. Boosters are not going sit by and watch the cats take over FCS while listening to BH talk about not being able to recruit defensive lineman. Them going to four out of the last 5 semifinals, two national title games, and winning one would place pressure on BH and Haslam.

I really don't see any BS from Cat players or coaches. I see it from some of their fans. Having NDSU so good all those years has made SDSU, South Dakota and even UND better to keep up. Having both Cats and Griz good is good for the rivalry, the Big Sky and FCS. Having NDSU or SDSU win it every year isn't good for FCS. It makes the rest of the field appear somewhat irrelevant.

I think outside of a few teams it is irrelevant.

I was that way and then continued to see and hear all their fans chanting esggcg at EVERY single sporting event and wedding and company function. There's no rule that says you need to love or like your little brother. Screw'em.

Are Uh, helllooo....those very boosters you mention (some of them, the most influential ones), are the very ones that demanded to bring Bobby back, and now they're dying on that sword, despite the evidence we all see on the field, because Bobby keeps telling them to keep the faith and don't worry, Bobby is the best coach in the Sky.
 
Curious, but has anyone actually heard Bobby say that recruiting defensive lineman is an issue or can't be done? I have heard others say it, and it has morphed into a thing that "Bobby says" over time. But honestly, I don't ever remember him actually banging this drum.
