Reload?

This roster isn’t devoid of young talent, there is just not nearly enough. Looking at who we lose to graduation alone is pretty scary. Then factor in possible portal defections and things aren’t exactly rosy.

It’s no surprise, there wasn’t a single game we played this season where I felt we had superior talent.

I feel like, if you’re gonna start a thread after a loss and playoff exit / season end, you should actually have something to say. Not just some bullshit like, “reload? Nah, we ain’t doin that”. Have a premise and ask a real question. Make it interesting and at least have a take that doesn’t suck. You had little to say, and your take sucks.

Lot of young guys that we can be excited about. A good class of big hogs from Washington on the offensive lines. Some good speed coming in. We've had a couple recruits over the last couple of years that could hit. I texted this to a couple of people, but I hope the Griz fans are ready for a year that could be a true rebuilding year (rough), or a year where young guys come out and exceed all expectations.

There were huge expectations in 2022, and they didn't get met after the LJ injury. (Yes, I still blame that). Then 2023 was a banger of a year where the team came together and defied all expectations. There were huge expectations in 2024, and they didn't get met. I'm hopeful that 2025 we have the guys that come in and surprise people. I'm sure that a lot of work will be put in for the offseason, with a lot of fire in the belly. Next year is going to be a ride.
You're going to have a rough year.

Come on we has superior talent against the UNC Bears.

The griz definitely had better talent than every team they beat. Hauck and staff do not have the ability to out coach any team in this league. They need to out athlete them.

The good news is we will not be the preseason favorite, so the expectations will not be sky high like this year, so the spotlight preseason until at least early regular season will not be on us, similar to 2023.

Two coaching changes that would help the team:

1. Can the two-quarterback rotation. Select a starter based on performance evaluation preseason and stick with him unless he falls on his face. I am not aware of any team playing two QB's that has won a FCS NC, a FBS NC, or a Super Bowl.

2. Junk the 3-3-5 and go back to the 4-3-4 base defense. If an opponent gets pass happy, drop a LB and play nickel. TCU played the 3-3-5 in the 2023 NC game against Georgia and got smoked 65-7, the worst loss in FBS bowl history !!! ( I guess TCU did win the Big 12 before getting annihilated by The Dawgs.) Again, I sm not aware of any FCS or FBS team winning a NC using the 3-3-5, and I don't think any NFL teams play a 3-3-5. After Don Read took over our program in 1986, we won 2 NC'S playing the 4-3-4 in 15 years, 1995 and 2001. We have played the 3-3-5 since Coach Hauck's return in 2018 and while our kids play their guts out, we have done pretty well but pretty well is not meeting expectations !!! We lost to Davis, MSU, and SDSU just this year and last year to SDSU in Frisco. Do any of them play the 3-3-5 ? Does NDSU play the 3-3-5 ?

My “premise” is that we did not reload this year. We regressed quite a bit from the previous year. The question would be how are we going to make the changes necessary to not see more regression? I think most egriz got it, not sure why you struggled so much with it.
Go Griz!

I think it’s more like making a run to the dollar store to see what we can get to fill the sparse cabinets. This was a wasted year “rebuilding/reloading” after a championship loss. This was not a young team playing, getting experience etc. It was comprised of 12 senior starters. Imagine what the 2 deep would look like if they made one today for 2025. Live by the portal die by the portal is where this program is now at, and I’m not sold on Bobby’s approach/ability to get enough out of the portal to become a legitimate contender in the conference let alone natty contender.

I think that guy struggles a lot in life, doesn't seem real sharp

First off. That was a pretty surprising and classless thing of Stig to do. I was surprised by it. Second Haslem should be embarrassed by it.
Geez… soft much? It’s just a lil smack talk sign, and a pretty funny one. I think it stings for Griz nation because it’s true.

I think his sign was a thumb in the eye to Hauck. He spent 30 years coaching SDSU and had to watch Hauck gloat in every press conference despite never winning a chipper. He like many people are sick of that is clown.

I think it’s funny from a fan. I’m surprised someone from the organization would agree to hold it and be filmed.

2nd. We were literally in the national title game last year. More recently than the cats. At least for a few weeks.

3rd. We dog walked Stig and his team his entire tenure. So maybe not the best choice to hold it.

I too thought it was classless of a former coach to hold such a sign. I wouldn’t have thought a thing of it if it had been held by a college kid, but you would have thought a retired coach would act more maturely.

It really doesn’t bug me but those comeback losses must have really stuck in his craw. Even 2015 under Stitt.

Pretty funny that any of these programs are one misstep away from seeing what happened to us. Don’t know how their PR team has managed the namesake of their largest donor so well, but if you thought our scandal was bad, look into that dude and his affiliation with Sanford health. Wouldn’t want to step foot on the structures tied to him as an athlete or a spectator.

Pssst, he doesn't coach there any more so he can do whatever he wants. So he's passionate about the game, and probably hates the griz, like a lot of people do. Call the waambulance. Isn't Bobbie known for saying things like, "I call that an ass kicking", "I wish there were 5 quarters so we could kick their asses some more", "I want to kick their asses on their field and then smoke a cigar on their 50"... the list goes on? And he says all that stuff WHILE he's the head coach. But ya, Stig is classless.
