MBBALL Stew Morrill Classic

Jesus what an ugly game. If that’s the way Utah Tech always finishes games then I can see why they’re as bad as they are. Kudos to the guys for sticking with it though. That’s what good teams do when they struggle, find a way to win. Not having Money or Sawyer down the stretch certainly did not help. Money looked fine on the bench, I’m sure Decuire kept him out as a precaution. I don’t think Sawyer played at all in the second half. Hopefully he’s alright.

Hopefully we got it out of our system. That would’ve been a really bad loss. That would’ve been the equivalent of Griz Football losing to Weber at home. Probably a good thing we have tomorrow off. Regroup, check on a couple guys, and get ready for a dog fight on Wednesday.

Joe Pridgen is phenomenal. He is the type of player this team has sorely missed. DAWG!
yeah, he looked amazing against a terrible team (Denver) with no inside force to challenge him. He went 0-2 on dunk attempts against Utah Tech. I don't think he'll get any opening against CSUN.

Denver is not a terrible team, and they had a 7’0” C available against the Griz. His dunks stood out, but do not tell the whole story of his game. He is a very complete player and his effort/energy is contagious.

I came from Nevada to catch this game left very concerned about the continued scoring droughts this team has. Whitney quietly did his thing and kept the GRIZ in the game , Kai showed heart and hustle, everyone else well they suited up I guess.

What a weird game that was last night. Griz seemed sluggish after a red hot start. Really sloppy play. My dad, who has been a season ticket holder since the 80's told me at one point it was some of the worst basketball he's ever seen from a Griz team.

Montana was probably REALLY lucky they were playing a god awful team in Utah Tech.

Last night's play wouldn't win many games in-conference. Fortunately we know these guys can play better. Hopefully the day off can get them re-focused.

As for Money's injury, he crashed hard into the padding under the rim, at first I thought he just maybe took a hard shot below the waist... he did come back but his play was even more off and he was sent to the bench after. I think (hope) Travis just realized that Money was off his game and whatever injury he had was slowing him down even further and he was hurting more than helping on the court.

Didn't help that Money got hurt in the second half cause right before he went out, you could see him start to take over the game and put the team on his back, and then when he went out, that really disrupted things.

His energy on the bench looked great. Jumping up and down, hyping his teammates up, smiling, etc. I think he'll be good to go tomorrow. Probably kept out as a precaution.

That's my hope as well - he seemed to be moving around just fine when he returned as well.

Looking forward to seeing the Griz against USF on Dec.21. I like what I saw from the Tennessee game.

Gonzaga's rise to basketball prominence lifted all schools in the WCC with more money, higher ticket prices, tougher schedules and elite recruiting. (Two outstanding young NBA players, Brandin Podziemski and Jalen Williams, both played at Santa Clara.) But with Gonzaga's move to the (new) Pac12, I suspect you'll see way more meetings between Big Sky and WCC teams. We used to regularly schedule the likes of Pepperdine, St. Mary's and Pacific before they had to (try) to compete at the level of Gonzaga, and I'm sure we'll see more of them again.

Championship game tonight. The Matadors have played good ball in the tourney and all season. Off to a 5-1 start to the season. Perhaps their best start in a long time. I think the off day will be to our benefit as Money should be good to go tonight and hopefully Sawyer too. We'll need both of those guys tonight as Money was the one kind of keeping the offense going on Monday night during the drought before he went out, and Sawyer can help on the glass. Especially since Bradtke didn't have a great game Monday night. Should be a hell of a game. Two good teams that should be in the race for their league titles when it's all said and done. I expect us to have a much better shooting night as you can't possibly have worse night than they did on Monday. Looking forward to it!
