The Brawl

I haven’t said I was sure Griz will win. Show me where I said that. I know you are just making up stuff, as usual. I haven’t bragged about having alot of money. I just take nice trips and have fun. I rarely bet. I just offer when I know posters won’t back up what they say. I haven’t collected on a bet or lost a bet for several years.
You brag all the time about how much money you supposedly have and I’ve seen you post dozens of bets ridiculous bets on this site. Some people try to support your BS but I seriously doubt anyone is going to support you on these lies.

Nope don’t brag about how much money I have. Feel free to post your support for that. I like to take great trips, but that isn’t bragging about money. Some of my wife’s family has some money. You are bugged because I point out your mistakes and BS. You obviously haven’t accomplished much in life.

The thing is what are the adjustments and changes from last year. Cats have simplified things quite a bit and added more pass threat. So now instead of dealing with a top level OL and a running QB, we have a stable of good backs, with a true dual threat QB, add in that the TE room is much deeper and better both blocking and receiving, especially since Snell wasn't playing in this game last year.

On the other hand the adjustments I have seen un um's defensive scheme this year seem to be more about adjusting to different personnel, meaning not as much pressure due to a weaker secondary, I will admit that the secondary has improved as the year has gone on and this has allowed them to send more pressure. Also the absence of Gubner in the middle has shown that teams have been able to run in the middle, his presence prevented that last year and allowed outside pressure to be effective.

Oh, and you were addressing this year as you were at the very least implying that since um stopped the Cats run game last year they would be able to do the same this year. You can talk in circles all you want but the matchup this year looks to favor MSU significantly
No, I was addressing a Griz poster who said we couldn’t possibly stop the Cat run and didn’t have the ability to address the Cat scheme. I said we sure did last year, and the coaches would start with T. Hauck’s prior scheme and adjust.

Yes, Cat offense has changed to some extent.

The Griz coaches will make the adjustments this year and haven’t yet told me what they will be. Ha.

Yes, Gubner gone, but the replacement are good too. Just not as good.

What you said about the season D adjustments is not correct. Yes, secondary playing better and making fewer mistakes.

I expect a good game. I don’t expect a blow out unless the Griz blow out the Cats again this year.

Not true.
We have not been good against the run. We’re 5th in the conference at doing it. Cal Poly NAU Cats and Davis are all better than us at stopping the run.

We’re about to play the team that runs it better than anyone. Stick
Your head in the sand and continue to hope.

In past 4 games, UM has give up 478 yards rushing. 120 per game.

5 games of 103 or under.

Cats average giving up 33 yards less per game than Griz.

Think more of a key is to get up on them early then it is anything else. The cats never have to play from behind. If they are forced to it changes everything.
Ya, except when they had to play from behind when being down by seventeen points, TWICE, but found a way to come back and win. But you are correct, it's not very often they are behind, which is what usually happens when you have the best offense in the country.

I'm just hoping Bobby doesn't look stunned, lost, and wishing he never had to stop in "The Rivals" town let alone stadium like he did before opening kickoff (and all game long) a couple years ago. Go scream at a couple key players instead!

It's funny to me that cat fans think this game is gonna be a blowout.

It's pretty simple, if the Griz stop the run, they can't lose this game. When a team is as unbalanced as the cats are on offense its easier to scheme, in my opinion. For the most part the cats are one dimensional so gameplan to stop the run and let Mellot throw as much as he can. I will live with that outcome all day everyday.

My Griz defensive keys to this game are as follows:
No turnovers
Wilson needs to be unleashed and play the field side as much as possible, use his speed and force things inside for the spill players to clean up. Defense needs to be very aware and attack the correct shoulder not the same shoulder and avoid assisting gaps for RBs, same with crack replace.
Blitz more than we have all year, then do it again and more often. Make Mellot run or speed up his decision making, Griz need to set the tone and don't let him dictate. Force them to change don't sit and wait for them to come to you. Bully them.

After playing against our offense in practice I know in my heart we can throw the ball against the cats. We are 5 deep where they are 2 or 3. They cannot cover us if our OL gives either QB anytime throwing the ball. Throw early and often then try to run the ball to burn clock and narrow cat possessions on the day.

Most of you think this game is unwinnable but its not. In my opinion even if a team has more talent, sometimes it doesn't match up well with the opposing team and I don't think the cats match up well with us. Its going to be a lot closer than anyone thinks unless Griz turn the ball over.

Bozeman is our home away from home and has been for a long time.
We threw for more than we ran last week and it sure worked. If you guys pack the box and run man, we will kill your secondary.

I doubt the Griz are very worried about your passing game. Griz have some dudes this year too. Improving each week now. Need to eliminate mistakes. Need to have discipline. We’ll see if the Griz D is up to the task. The Cats have some passing this, but are still a dangerous run team.

I know you struggle to pay your bets, but let's bet a MoClub burger on an offense of over and under 500 yards for the Cats.

They run the ball 2/3s of the time according to stats on MSU bobcat football website. Thats not balanced on offense. I like how our secondary matches up with the quality of WRs the cats have. That goes in our favor. Make Mellot throw to win and if they do tip your hat to them. The only thing he is good at is side line to side line passes His delivery or ability to process is slow and rarely does he ever hit anyone in stride, WRs are always making adjustments, slowing down or coming back for the ball.
I know the coaches aren't overlooking their passing game and I hope they wouldn't. The Cats have a really potent offense, and they have proven they can score on a multitude of ways. Tommy is a legit dual threat and one of the best players in FCS.

We can squabble back and forth all day about how we get the win, but we as the outsiders do not have the film, data, tendencies or any of the analytics the coaches use to determine where they are going to start with scheme. Do you take the Belichick route and completely change our defensive scheme for 1 game?

Yes, but unfortunately, we have Bobby and not Belichick. We can't drastically change our defense because of poor recruiting.

those 4 games
PSU 213 BSC Avg 187
UCD 130 BSC Avg 139
CP 63 BSC Avg 104
UNC 65 BSC Avg 141

So you played 3 of the worst 4 rushing teams in the BSC and held 2 of them below their average.
PSU which is the 6th best rushing team in the BSC exceeded their average.

cherry picking doesn't tell the story

Really depends on his story. As you know, stories come in all different forms.
