Post Game: It's settled

Disagree. I definitely like what I see. Though the problem is game speed.

He is just two years out of High School. He is still adapting. Given more experience he could be a gem. Right now he is rushed and still playing fairly well. With time the game should slow down for him and we’ll see him shine. That’s my two bits
How far out of high school was Dave Dickinson when he took over in 3rd qtr and turned the game around? How far out of high school was last year's Vandal's Qb? Ah Yat will never be a gem.

what is it exactly that he shows you that you like? 0 points in 30 minutes of football against a hapless Portland St.? He's been in the program for 2 years now. He's had time to grasp the offense. He's had plenty of reps. For me it's painful to watch.

Did any of you already forget about last season? We lose to a sub-par NAU team and then a fire was lit that set the tone the rest of the year. Sure, we have had a few losses already this year and our D isn't looking great like it has been in the past, but our QB1 standing up to our HC against PSU I believe is going to turn this ship around. FIFE is the leader this team needs and if the coaches listen and keep him in in bozo, he will be that spark that moves us forward. If we can get the rest of the team to get fired up, we do have the guys that can compete at a high level.

Offense won't be the issue, TOP and some defensive stops will be what determines the game outcome...

You are right. Keeping TOP even or better is crucial. We can’t let msu’s running machine grind down our defense.

On the other side, the cats did a great job with pressure and sacks on UC Davis QB. Our coaches better be scheming to get the ball out of our QB’s hands as quickly as possible. Take the deep shots when they’re available but scheme our plays to go with quick hitters to counter their pressure

Don’t understand what talent you guys think he has. Played for a bad HS program didn’t win any games and didn’t get recruited by anybody but us.
I agree. I am not saying he can't improve over the next few years, but he didn't leave HS with a great resume, and definitely not one worthy of a Division 1 starting QB in my opinion.

We are in good shape with Fife as long as we can keep him next year.

I've been hearing some rumors about the Columbia Falls kid, Schwickert that he is the biggest (6' 4" 220lbs.) ,fastest, and most accurate QB ( check out all the pass completion records he holds for the state of Montana)) on the Grizzly roster. He's only a rs. freshman but hoping these rumors are true.

Are you sure he will be a QB?

I just think that the bubs will dominate the LOS on both sides of the ball. I am not sure the Griz offense has a great day no matter whom plays QB.
QB is a big factor on controlling the ball, and keeping the cat O off the field. Our offense is going to have to win the day in my view. I do agree with you on the LOS aspect. However, with running the 3-3-5 it allows us to be creative and do some things we haven't seen this year. Essentially you can turn it into any type of front you want. The biggest concern this year as it was 2 years ago is being gap sound consistently. We are going to run a ton of angle and slants to get into gaps easier, but we need the LB's and down safety to be able to set the edge and string it to the "free safety". Hell, even the corners need to be able to force the ball back inside.

What are you talking about? Davis was crushed until the final 2 minutes of the game. Fife will be running for his life, and if it's AY, we may see a return to the O-line that showed up at NAU last year.
Football games are 60 minutes and they all count. MSDUI was lucky to escape with a W.

I am not convinced that the Griz offense will have enough success to keep the bub O off the field.

Unless Hauk breaks his normal "earn the starting job" in the off-season I think Fife is gone, which knowing Bobby means he's gone.

Why would he want to risk coming back here and dealing with the same bullshit that he has so far this season? He's also done enough this year to probably earn a starting gig like both Sam and Cliff did at another FCS program.
