No big dispute here altho I believe the bigger drop off in the secondary came from the loss of TCI think Walker was the best CB on the team last season, IIRC he wasn't targeted as much as Gradney or others.

One guy makes a tremendous difference.Nobody said otherwise
But he’s still only one guy.
I think the talent drop off is not as big as some are claiming but has been compounded by the drop off by the D calls.Again, I think we just agree to disagree. I for one don't think the talent level this year is anywhere near what it was last year on the defensive side of the ball.
Yeah, but that's what I mean. Even with Lee replacing Fouch, losing Walker and TC was huge. The dropoff in performance/talent compounds with each guy because of how important it is that the back end of the defense knows how to play with the other guys. It's clear the players this year either don't know how, or don't trust the other guys, so they're going outside the structure of the call and it's leading to giving up huge plays. No big dispute here altho I believe the bigger drop off in the secondary came from the loss of TC
And my feeling is that even if that guy was still at UM, the defense would be better, but it wouldn't be anywhere near the caliber of last season. It isn't as talented. So agree to disagree.I think the talent drop off is not as big as some are claiming but has been compounded by the drop off by the D calls.
Fact is, there is only one person from last year’s team in the NFL now and he wasn’t a player
Have you been in a cave?So no evidence to support your unsubstantiated, subjective conclusion? Got it.
I disagree. Particularly with the “way off” part.
Yep. Only one guy from last year’s team made the NFL and it was not GubOne guy makes a tremendous difference.
I believe the bigger compounding factor was losing an NFL coach and replacing him with rookie co-coordinators. That’s a much bigger “gap”. I might be the only one on here talking about it but the players don’t believe in some huge talent gap.Yeah, but that's what I mean. Even with Lee replacing Fouch, losing Walker and TC was huge. Nobody cares what you think particularly after your umpteenth band and new screen names. Haven’t been relevant in 30 years, if ever. I would believe something Teddy Ruxpin said before anything out of your flapping lipsHave you been in a cave?
First off, calling Tim Hauck a "rookie coordinator" is kind of funny. He has been a DC and defensive coach at this and higher levels of football for a long time.I believe the bigger compounding factor was losing an NFL coach and replacing him with rookie co-coordinators. I am not trying to be snarky, and I ask this out of a place of high level football ignorance I guess, but how do you know player assignments? I am always curious when I hear fans say that this player or that player missed their assignment. Perhaps (or probably more likely) these things are readily apparent and it is easy to identify with 100% certainty. With all of the weird stuff coordinators are doing these days, I have a difficult time wrapping my mind around what they are trying to do half of the time.First off, calling Tim Hauck a "rookie coordinator" is kind of funny. Now for your point, I would agree if the reason for our lapses and horrible tendency to give up big plays were caused by bad alignments or poor reads by our coaches, but that's not what's happening.
The majority of our big plays given up, especially in the last two weeks, have simply been because our guys are not where they are supposed to be, or they vacate their assignment because they don't know where they're supposed to be or they think they need to make up for the other guys out there.
The calls, by and large, have been fine. We have not been able to execute the calls well enough due to inexperience and communication issues between our back end players.
A part of that is on the coaches to make sure the guys are where they need to be, but if they make the right call and we still give up a huge TD, at some point our guys need to get their shit together and do their job. If they can't do that, then that speaks to a lack of talent that wasn't a problem last season running the same defense.
Literally everything you just described is coachingFirst off, calling Tim Hauck a "rookie coordinator" is kind of funny. He has been a DC and defensive coach at this and higher levels of football for a long time.

#25 has been doing his own thing all season and given up 4 big plays for touchdowns by not doing what he is supposed to do. He is the problem.Literally everything you just described is coaching
And you can’t say the calls have been fine when the head coach admitted they were not
He's not making it up. Meyer also gave up a TD last week being out of position.Ha. Shows what you know which is less than zero. Such a weird and trolly thing to make up because it’s the opposite of what the coaches believe and the evidence. More snaps at safety and tackles there than any other player this year
100% agree with this take. And my feeling is that even if that guy was still at UM, the defense would be better, but it wouldn't be anywhere near the caliber of last season. It isn't as talented. So agree to disagree.
You have no clue what you are talking about. #25 has been horrible all year. Biggest liability on the team. I know you think it’s cool he played 8 man football but he has not been good. #17 should be playing.Ha. Shows what you know which is less than zero. He also lost his gap on the long NAU touchdown.Don’t you look like an idiot?
Lee had another good game. Not only did he get the game sealing fumble, he also had one of the most important tackles of the game forcing the last punt.
So you think a freshman (Boyd) should start over a super senior? Why, because he’s from your hometown of Billings?
Have you shared your resume with the coaches? You obviously know more than them.
