Come on Gub....

How did he play? I saw he was double-teamed and then went inside on short qb scramble for td.
He was double teamed a lot. Had a similar deep push into the backfield but didn’t quite get the ball carrier, had his hands on him. Play ended up a loss of 1. Didn’t see any actual stats.

I think he will make the team. He might be on the practice squad, but he will be on the team.
The key will be to watch Fabien Lovett. If the Chiefs keep 5 DTs on the 53 man roster -- no guarantees they will -- Lovett will be the fifth guy. And then there's a decent chance Gubs makes the practice squad.

But if they keep 4, then Lovett is a lock for the practice squad, and Gubs will have to beat out either Truman Jones or Matt Dickerson, because they're not keeping 4 DTs on the practice squad. And the problem is, both those guys have been in the organization.

So keep your eye on what they do with Lovett.

One podcast compared him to Jared Allen from Idaho. Not too shabby....
Hyperbole. Gubner had a good run, but to compare him to Jared Allen??? I
I don't know who made the comparison, but he's talking out of his ass. Identify this podcast Feinbaum, please.
They both played on the defensive line, were the studs of their BSC teams, almost 20 years apart. Allen won the Buck Buchanan Award in 2003. I saw many games he played in Holt, work hindering my seeing any more. He could get that Pokey crowd loud. Gubner struggles just to make the team. Allen didn't struggle.

Appreciate the analysis, but I think I'll just wait to see what gets posted on egriz about Gubner. My Chiefs buddy with fancy tickets has already invited for a game, if Gubner makes the squad.

Nice!

Where are his tickets? The group I share season tickets with joined the Founders Club this year. The Miami playoff game forced us to realize -30 at our age isn't so pleasant. 😄

Don't know, but his baseball tickets are good. When I showed up for a business trip the year of the first Royals World Series game X years ago, he said he'd be around but I'd have to go to Game 1 with him. 4 tiks in row 2 behind outside corner of visitor's dugout. In Mahomes' first year, when he wasn't yet a starter, the long-time usher in that seating area asked if he'd be using his 4th seat and could the usher have someone sit there. My friend, who knew the usher, said sure. The usher brought Mahomes to the seat. Said Mahomes was nice and wanted to discuss every good or big or interesting play. As you know, Mahoms' dad was a major league pitcher.

My friend says he's with a large group of guys who have good seats all over, including Club seats and suites. My friend grew up in Kansas City and moved back after Stanford law school and Penn. Played lightweight football at Penn. His uncle is/was Ed Asner, the actor. We used to stay with "uncle" Ed in LA during law school, and he'd take us to the Mary Tyler Moore Show and other cool stuff. We met all the actors on MTM several times over the years. Ed and my friend were short and stocky, but they were both good athletes who had done well in high school.
