The Bubble today

Whhaaaaaaatt??

Yes the bub's indoor T&F team will benefit from their, uhhh, odd configuration. At UM, the football team, the soccer team, the softball team and even the golf teams will get maximum benefit.

Let's be honest: T&F (particularly indoor T&F)is nearly an afterthought at UM. Now, if the bubs were a real DI program, they'd field softball and soccer teams, so we could absolutely kick their asses in two more sports. But they won't because, well, that whole ass kicking thing
I don't think the Griz have been owning anything since about 2015.

Ha! Like, right on cue.

We don't participate in the same sports, because msdui knows they cannot compete with the GRIZ in softball and soccer, so they refuse to field teams. Get back to me when they do (and when T&F doesn't count for 80% of these numbers).

I thought T&F was a D1 sport last time I checked and that both schools participated. I would love it if MSU had Soccer and Softball, and both schools had a Men's Golf program (MSUs hypothetical Mens team would totally dominate UMs hypothetical Mens team because UM would probably refuse to field a team). I was just pointing how it has shaken out in the sports we do go head to head in. Anyway, I hope everyone has a safe and Happy 4th. I enjoy reading the crazy takes on each of the team boards every once in awhile.

Montana State has Women's Rodeo and Women's Skiing. UM has Women's Soccer and Softball.

Do I wish that MSU had both those as well? Sure.
Until msdui gets their shit together, they will always be the anchor weighing UM down, or the albatross around our neck, or any other nautical metaphor for holding us back.

The BOR will not let us move up without msdui and there’s no way the Mountain West will take a school that offers goat roping and sliding down a hill on sticks instead of normal sports.

It’s like we finally get invited to the awesome party down the block:

[UM:] “Mom! Mom! I finally got invited to neighbors’ sick 4th of July blowout party!!”

[Mom/BOR:] “Take your little brother.”

[UM:] “What?!? Mom. No way man.”

[Mom/BOR:] “Yes or you can’t go.”

[UM:] “Oh come on, mom, nobody wants him there.”

[Mom/BOR:] “Then you can stay home with him and help us clean out the stalls and pond.”

[UM:] “Ahhh, it’s so not fair!”

[UM to lil bro:] “Ok. Look, I got some beer stashed and I am also bringing some Hustlers and M-80s. What you got?”

[Lil bro:] “I could bring the slow goat and show everyone how awesome I’m getting with my lasso.”

[UM:] “Fuck. I’m going to die a virgin.”

The nicer "permanent" facility with fabric walls...🙄
Sorry to “burst your bubble” but walls are all metal.

The Bobcat IAC will contain 100 yards of turf encompassed by a six-lane 300-meter oval track. The north end of the facility features the building's main entrance, a meeting room and restrooms. Inside the pre-engineered metal building supported by steel beams, a full drop curtain surrounding the football turf allows for a safe environment for multiple simultaneous sporting activities.

The official proposal that has been posted a zillion times calls for fabric walls.

That was for the $15mil facility.

They decided to upgrade to the $26mil facility.

I’m glad the did. It’s going to be an outstanding facility.

Is the drop-down curtain to provide some privacy from those creepy ogling people the artist's renditions always seem to show in msdui's plans?
Drop down curtain is so the football and track teams can utilize the facility at the same time without the danger of the occasional football taking out a distance runner.

This is July 2 article.

"Completion of the IAC is estimated for the late spring of 2025.

official groundbreaking ceremony for the MSU Indoor Athletic Center on July 16, at 3 p.m. in Bobcat Stadium’s north end zone.

Inside the pre-engineered metal building supported by steel beams, a full drop curtain surrounding the football turf allows for a safe environment for multiple simultaneous sporting activities.

The FieldTurf football surface provides an 80-yard playing field and two 10-yard end zones.

the facility will be available to Bobcat varsity student-athletes during daytime hours and to community sports groups during specified evening and weekend hours.

The track oval will be a full-pour polyurethane surface composed of BSS 1000 encapsulated texture surface, the same as the program’s outdoor track, and will be installed by the Beynon Sports track surfacing company. The facility features two competition throwing rings, an approach apron for the high jump and runways and pits for the pole vault, long jump and triple jump. The IAC location displaces the current outdoor track hammer and discus throwing area, which will be relocated south of the outdoor track. A walkway connecting the current seating area to the new outdoor throwing areas will be constructed."
