Montana: Gavin has a lot of potential, and had a solid spring, but he is competing against several upperclassmen with more experience. He should still be in the mix at running back, and may see acion on special teams as well this season.

2011: He was a redshirt at UM

High School: He rushed for 907 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior at C.M. Russell High School…named first team all-state and “Super State” at running back as a junior in 2009…tabbed first team all-state at linebacker and second team at running back as a senior, and team (12-1) won the state title that year…team captain and MVP on defense his senior year…lettered twice in basketball and once in track…also team captain in hoops…”Rustler Award” his senior year…his football coach is Montana hall of famer Jack Johnson.

Personal: He was an outstanding student in high school and had a 4.0 GPA. His major is undeclared at this time. Birth date: Feb. 28, 1993. His parents are Greg and Patty Hagfors of Bend, Oregon. His father, Greg, was an All-American center at North Dakota State in 1984.
