Montana opens up the season at Purdue with games against Oakland and Purdue. Oakland was tabbed as the Horizon Leagues Preseason favorite and represented the league in the national tournament last year. The Griz beat them 2-0 on Saturday and played Purdue today who was picked 11th out of 14 teams in the Big 10 but came to Missoula last year and won a heart breaker 3-2 after the Griz were winning 2-1 w/ less then 10 min to play. This year it was payback. The Griz were losing 1-0 w/ just over 6 min to play when they tied it up and forced OT where they won with a goal scored in under 2 minutes into OT.

Getting Widner back this year is gonna be huge with only one Sr graduating from last years team. I deffenetly see a BSC championship and a trip to the national tourney where hopefully we can make some noise. Go Griz.

Damn, wish I would have known this. Just dropped the other twin at Purdue on Monday. She could have went and cheered for me.

A great start for the Ladies! Confidence is huge this time of year, and those wins will certainly help.

Their next two games are at Wyoming (to be played on Friday) and at Denver (on Sunday, will be televised on Altitude, so the ladies will be getting some rare TV airtime).

They need to keep the mo. We usually do good against Wyo but they're 2-0 this year and Den is usually a ranked team but they're 0-2 this year and hungry for a victory.

Griz leave Laremie with a 1-1 tie. I know to most people who might casually see a soccer score or even glimpse at a game and say it was just a 1-1 tie but that game was so much more then that. We were outplayed, out hustled, and just plain pushed around for 87 minuets of the 90 min regulation. Except for our goalie Norman and one shot by our superhero Widner, Wyo dominated this entire game from start to finish. We did not come to play today and they did and to escape Laremie with a 1-1 tie was damn impresuve(maybe lucky). Norman as usual was a brick wall except for one break away one on one shot that only happened cus two Grizzly defenders made an awful play allowing the Wyo attacker to squeeze right through them and sprint all alone towards the goal with the ball. If not for Widner's amazing header with 3 min left in regulation to tie(her second equalizing goal inside the 80 min mark in as many games) the ladies would have been thouroughly defeated. This was a game that will set us up down the road to persevere and hopefully strengthen us to win another BSC championship. Go Griz.

Dominating DU today
That's a big win. Den is historically a really good team. They may be having a down year this year but that's still our 4th road game out of 4 games to start the season and we come out 3-0-1. We still have one more road game at Pullman Wash next week before we get to come home when Boise St and Gonzaga come to town. Would be nice to see a lot of fans turn out for those two former conference rivals (one considerably older then the other) especially since the boys will be in Iowa that weekend.

Maybe will try to make it over from GF for a game. Daughter and son playing highschool so it is tough to find time.

In the Northwest rankings #9 Montana at #8 Washington St at 8pm Mt time.

And lost to Gonzaga on Sunday by the identical score. They'll head to California next week for matches against San Jose State and Fresno State.
Should be good games. Both will be streamed by the Mountain West for free. Last two games before the con sched starts.

Griz got a big win on Friday against Weber State. Madi Adams, Kaitlin Crowell, and Janessa Fowler (on a penalty kick) all scored goals and Kailey Norman earned herself another clean sheet.

They play two on the road this weekend at NAU (Friday) and Southern Utah (Sunday).
