Oguine Twitter video

About time he gets some mention and attention. What took so long? Is he over shadowed by Rorie? He's the size of a 1/pg. His ball handling and distribution skills need to be shown some more. In my opinion, he's every bit the prospect and player as Rorie. We're lucky to have them here at the same time. Glad to Oguine joining Ahmad in getting outside recognition.

Does any other school in the country have their 6'1" point guard handle jump balls ?

Earlier this year I noted that Oguine was rated No. 45 in the entire nation in terms of the value he adds to his college team.

Now he's ranked No. 13 among those players who will be returning next year! The rankings are done by Value Add Basketball, a web site that uses various calculations to determine the overall values players add to their teams.

Trae Young was atop the list about the team Oguine was No. 45.

Interestingly, Tres Tinkle is No. 49 on the newest list.

I noted earlier that Oguine's high rank in the Value Add ratings was quite a feather in his cap because the formula it uses is stacked against mid and low-major players. Value Add "adjusts efficiency based on the strength of defenses faced...." In other words, it penalizes players who play teams that are reputedly weaker opponents.

As I understand it, some pro scouts watch the Value Add rankings as it helps them find diamonds in the rough -- guys who aren't just shiny objects, but have multiple talents that they use to make their teams better.

By the way, Rorie was at 131 and Akoh at 144 in the latest ratings. The only other Big Sky player I saw in the mix -- unless I missed someone -- was Stutzman of Idaho State at 96.
