That Mslacat - just trying to stir the pot again.

I see that Eddy was 2nd team all Southern Cal, along with Jamal Hartwell who is going to George Mason. I haven't been able to find any video but I think that 2nd Team all SoCal would rank right up there with 2nd team Class C Montana, right?? Nice "get" coaches and Eddy, welcome to Montana!

Da Phuck?????
I see what you did there.

He reminds me of Michael Oguine. Can’t tell what hops he has but appears that he is long and athletic with a nice mid-range shot. Let’s hope he develops like Michael. Again it appears to be a nice job of recruiting by the coaching staff.

Welcome to the Griz Eddy.

Kid looks like a baller. Found some videos....

Mslacat - thanks for delivering the news! - Eddy certainly has a nice build for a high school player and it appears that he is in the 6-4 range. Looks to be a "player" right away.

I see the NCAA Spring signing period starts tomorrow, Wednesday, April 11.

This confirms to me the stamp DeCuire has put on our program: Defense, defense, defense. Egun looks to me like he could be an outstanding defensive player, in the mold of an Oguine. I'm fine with that, and excited by this commitment.

At the same time, you have to put the damned ball in the basket, period. For too many stretches this year we were unable to do that--and as a result, lost the chance for a stunning 14-2 takedown at the Big Dance. I hope we find some flat-out shooters, and real playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. Another reason I'm so high on Malatare.

Gotta laugh at Egun's recruitment.

On Verbal Commits, they list some 24 players Montana is recruiting.

Egun is not on that list.

Our staff has been recruiting him since December.

Who knew.

He was on campus recently, met his future teammates, toured the campus, was impressed with the Champions Center, liked the academic situation, and yet...

...not a peep out of anybody.

Hope no students on this board are hoping to go into sports journalism.

But one thing is obvious: Our success last year is helping recruiting. Good players want to play where they'll be seen, where they have a chance at the Big Dance.

And also: What a great ambassador Michael Oguine is for this program, and the University of Montana. It didn't escape notice that Egun knows Oguine, a fact that definitely helped his recruitment.

Good write up

Coach said it in his interview Colter, the Griz are looking for players that want to be here. Sounds like they are high on this kid and his character and his desire to make an impact. He is still growing too (maybe 7' by next year)

We went through the same angst with Kareem Jamar. I believe he committed early, even before his senior season, then was the leading scorer for his team in the state championship game, which I believe they won. Several big schools then went after him but he stuck with us. I think Eddy will as well.

I will say this: That Collisons game featured some very high-profile recruits. Quite an honor to win MVP.

If you are in a funk with the lack of hoop news, you will want to watch this relatively short video of the Collision All-Star game where Eddy (#4) was the MVP. It seems that he can do it all, defend, go to the hoop, and shoot the long ball. I like it! Can't wait to see Eddy working with Ahmad, Michael, Sayeed, and Timmy. Welcome Eddy and nice work Coaches. Nice to see a young man honor his commitment.
