Weren't these two schools in the NCAA recent years?UM won't be able to surprise them like they did Pitt but ifthey can stay out of foul trouble and cut into the back court shooting, this can be a very good game for UM. The Griz stopped Pitt at their own similar style so this should be interesting. Intimidation is not a factor to these guys, unlike in most previous years.

FYI, this game will be on the Big Ten Network. I have my DVR set for it. Unfortunately, have to work that night.

From Big 10 Power Rankings:

#9 - Penn State Nittany Lions (--)
The Nittany Lions faced two underwhelming opponents over the weekend and saw mixed results in the two games. Penn State was pushed significantly by Campbell on Friday night, but scored a relatively easy win against Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday afternoon.

Penn State will likely have some more growing pains this season. The question will be whether it ends up costing them a game. However, with home games against Montana on Wednesday and Columbia on Friday this week, don’t expect a loss this week.

FYI...the Big 10 Network television is on Directv, Channel 610. For those in the Greater Seattle area it is Channel 632 on Comcast Cable.

Gotta believe, guys!

Gotta shoot, guys!

Free throw percentage through two games: 62%. (To crack the Top 100 in D1, that number has to be 75%.)
Three-point percentage through two games: 31.8%. (Would love to see that number at 40%, which would put us among the top 80 teams in the country, but it must be above 35%.)

You're going to give up a lot of points to a lot of opponents if you can't shoot treys and free throws better than we are right now.

Maybe this is why DeCuire is stressing defense so much. And our perimeter defense against Pitt was outstanding. Interior defense? Needs work. We don't really have a rim protector yet--though Kramer and Nicholas both will be eventually. Our overall field goal percentage defense is 42%; would love to see that below 40.

Basketball is a simple game: Ball. Basket. Put ball in basket. Keep opponent from doing same.

Can't wait for tonight. If you live in the Bay Area, the Comcast channel is 403.

You agree quite specifically with statements made publicly by coach DeCuire in at least two pre-season interviews I heard. He cited statistics as well, stressing team focus on game-by-game improvement in surpassing last season's Griz stats on offense and defense. The stats: The griz shot 45% from the field and 35.7% from beyond the arc. Montana held opponents to an averae 46% shooting average and 35% from beyond the arc. He indicated a focus of at least 5% improvement in all areas in a statement where he described it as a "focus" (incremental game-by-game improvement) and not a specific goal.

Monday's missed free throws were a bit out of character. Last season Oguine shot 75% from the line, Pridgett shot 79%, Moorehead 69%, Rorie 83% and Krslovic 68%.

is this game streamable at all?

BTN2Go it works like ESPN 3. If you have the Big Ten Network on cable, Dish, or Direct it's free. But it looks like you can buy a streaming package as well?

Don't have any of those services! I will look into the option to pay.

No stream unless you have the package through one of the mentioned providers. You can pay $10 for a month pass and watch the replay without the package, though.
