This is good news, but also sad ... because the hero was hurt and the craziness goes on.

ESPN News said:
Jason Seaman, a former defensive lineman at Southern Illinois, has been identified by parents and students as the teacher who intervened to help stop a shooter at a middle school in Indiana on Friday.

Seaman, a science teacher, was shot three times ...

Seaman played at Southern Illinois from 2007 to 2010. According to school records, he played in 47 career games and tallied eight sacks with two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

According to a social media profile, Seaman, who is married and has two young children, also coaches football for the seventh-grade team.
...
Because of his quick action to tackle the shooter, no one was killed and Seaman was the only person wounded.
Edit (should have done this sooner): That was the information at the time, but there was one girl -- Ella Whistler -- also wounded ... more seriously than Jason. Current news is that she is "improving."

A student was also shot and in critical but stable condition. There are indications she'll make a full recovery.
