Hats of to Purdy, great scoring kicks....but otherwise the kickoffs were once again weak, poor coverage especially on the one, not great punting and Horrible KO returns.

Cannot understand why Purdy is not kicking off. EWU averaged 10 yards better each return and none of our kicks were deep. I could not tell whether Williams was pooch kicking or not the kicks were so bad. On our returns, we have no blocking scheme that I can see, wedge, sideline, ? Very few EWU coverage returners were blocked; they had free access to the returner who never found an open lane to make a play.

Since Shann Shillinger was mainly a special teams guy in the NFL for 3 years maybe he should be helping out on special teams. Was really sick of watching the exact same kick return scheme 9 consecutive times on Saturday night. How hard is it to make a frickin adjustment to change things up a little and to keep EWU honest. It got to the point where the EWU guys on the wide side of the field were crashing to the near hash mark because we run the same return to the same spot every single time.

With the secondary having just given up 549 yards passing, I suspect the priority on Shann's time is there.

Yes, and, the returner would run 10 yards up field and curl up into the fetal position! Can't blame him for that.
