Growing up in Butte, I saw, first hand the tragic results of heavy drinking. Now, Montana leads the nation in alcoholism and suicide. And, if that is not enough, it is a pioneer in Meth.....

Montana has its problems, but its hardly a "pioneer" for Meth... That drug is rampant accross the county, including in your state...

I lived in Butte and I have lived elsewhere in Montana. I don't think drinking in Butte is worse than other Montana towns.
 
When I attended Tech, we often joked that a public library card would allow you to drink in most establishments.

Don't worry if your town is "worse than others" at drinking. Aspire to be better than others at drinking. That means more often, larger amounts and earlier. As the Swedes say "you don't have to drink to have a good time, but why risk it."
